SEC (It just means more.. even its losses are wins)

where did I say anything even remotely hinting that LSU was some beacon of purity.
I even point blank said they weren't.
Your first 4 posts about it today....
here’s the funniest part about all of this crap.

not a single human being that participated in any NFL activities is even listed on LSU’s official roster right now.
not one.

but if you listen to the media and this Georgia AG, you’d swear that we’re gonna roll out an entire team of NFL pro-bowlers.

Texas however has a starting O-Lineman that took part in NFL mini camps.
yet nobody is really saying anything about that.

LSU did evaluate a few guys, some practiced, “committed” to LSU, etc.

so if all this plays out and they are deemed eligible, LSU can (and i’m assuming will) add them.
but as of this morning at least, none of them have been added yet.

LSU has been pretty upfront about all of this.
Whatever is decided though all this bullshit to be the rule going forward is what LSU will follow.

but Lane is a very polarizing guy. Easy to hate.
so he’s on full blast right now over it.

except he really isn’t.

Texas has a guy that will be a starter on their O-Line that attended NFL mini camps.
for some reason, no body gives a shit about him because he never signed an actual NFL contract prior to being cut loose.

LSU received a “commitment”, but has yet to sign a guy that received a rookie contract and then was cut loose.

both guys were undrafted.
both guys failed to make an NFL roster.

one is perfectly OK to list as a starter.
the other makes you the anti-christ for even considering maybe potentially possibly adding him if a ruling comes out that would allow it.

and again, LSU and Kiffin have been pretty open about it from the beginning.
IF it’s determined that these guys are eligible, then yeah, we’ll sign the one(s) that potentially make our roster better. If not, then we won’t.”

and honestly, it’s literally a major part of the Head Coach’s job to assemble the best roster he can within the rules.

what other way is there?

none of these players are on LSU’s roster.
if the ruling comes down that they are not eligible, then none of them will be put on the roster.
if the ruling comes down that they are eligible, then they (probably) will be added.
Yeah.....you're really giving LSU the business.

Must be a really awkward hearing then, with only a few things being said here and there. It's not like you're just picking and choosing what to post here to paint LSU in the best light or anything......

Sorry about not shutting the fuck up :roll1:

I'm limited to what is being posted and made available publicly right now.

my apologies if I led you to believe this was me picking and choosing.

Yeah.....you're really giving LSU the business.
and another of of my posts
doing the same exact thing everyone else was already doing with the SEC’s blessing (even if an indirect blessing by not trying to stop it previously).

i’m not even attempting to say that LSU is some moral beacon or “singing Bible hymns”.

i’m saying they looked around at what was previously allowed to happen and said “fuck it! we’ll do that too”
it sucks.
all of it sucks.

I wish we wouldn't, but if everyone else is doing it and being ALLOWED to do it, then fuck it, do it too.

Yeah, I had to drag that out of you. Before that it was pretending like this was happening TO LSU instead of something LSU is doing.
ok, let me attempt to clear up my personal stance on this.

I think this entire fiasco is a fucking black eye on the sport I love more than any other.
all of it.
I'll be posting a link to our podcast later where I say the same thing.

all of it is bullshit and none of it should be happening.

but anyone who even attempts to argue that this shits hasn't been going on for a while is kidding themselves.

so I'm at the point now where "ok, if this is actually condoned and within the rules, then we may as well do it too."

we pay Lane Kiffin a lot of money to field the best team he can within the rules.
and the NCAA and the SEC has shown precedence that they will just allow whatever the most recent court order was to be the rule that's followed.

and that's what LSU did here.
they followed the most recent court ruling.

my opinion on that court ruling isn't relevant.
it's the rule.
if that's the rule, that's the rule. whether I like the rule or not.

now, yeah I am pissed off that LSU is now the team being singled out.
LSU is the "bad guy"
LSU is the one being sued by their own conference.
LSU is the one getting absolutely hammered in the national media.
LSU is the fucking anti-christ while other teams doing the exact same thing are ignored.

it's like y'all felt about the tattoo bullshit that went down at tOSU back in the day.
no fucking way all of these college kids everywhere in America could afford thousand of dollars worth of tattoos on their own.
we all know it was happening everywhere.
but tOSU was used as the "example" and y'all got slammed for it.

that was bullshit.
you know it, I know it.

same here.

is it wrong?
in my opinion, yes.

according to the precedent already set in motion over the last couple years by the NCAA and the SEC? apparently not.

until they now decided to dig their heels in the sand and take a stand against LSU.

so yeah, I'm bitter that WE have to be the team that gets drug through the mud for it.
there are plenty of other schools that could just have easily have taken our spot in this center of this mess.
Hell the fucking Commissioner of the SEC admitted under oath, that he doesn't even know what the NCAA "5 for 5" rule even states. He can't define what a "pro" or an "amateur" is. He refused to answer whether or not Vanderbilt would be penalized if they played a guy involved in this lawsuit. He doesn't know any individual player's specific situation is, but he knows LSU is wrong and is going to sue them over it.

so honestly, I don't even know if the relationship between LSU and the SEC can even be repaired at this point.
so now, my school may be out of a conference over doing the exact same shit that the exact same conference has said was cool to do before we did it.

where the fuck are we going to go next?
Independant? with the massive media market that is Baton Rouge, Louisiana? might as well just go ahead and file bankruptcy now
the B1G? we're not an AAU school , so that issue is dead before it even gets presented.
the Big XII? they'd slit their wrists to land us. but damn that a massive pay cut.
the ACC? might be worse than Big XII.

all because we did the exact same shit that other schools have been doing for a couple years now without any kickback from above.

Holy cow

Did @Gatorubet hack into Nootch’s account?

and now things get really interesting.

what does LSU (or anyone else for that matter) do with players from this particular hearing do?

the SEC has already said they’re going to appeal this.

so if you don’t put them n the roster for fear of that outcome, aren’t you technically violating this ruling?

if you DO roster them and the SEC wins the appeal, then you could get slammed with penalties.

so what is the correct course with these particular players?

Nobody is arguing that.
so I'm at the point now where "ok, if this is actually condoned and within the rules, then we may as well do it too."
So you don't really hate it. All it takes is your team doing it, and then magically you're fine with it.
LSU is the fucking anti-christ while other teams doing the exact same thing are ignored.

same here.
Not same here. At the time, Tressel was Jesus. He reversed the Michigan curse, and he ended a 34 year NC drought. And we STILL ran his ass out of town. And everybody understood why. We accepted that he lied and got caught. So.....not exactly the same approach you're taking.
so honestly, I don't even know if the relationship between LSU and the SEC can even be repaired at this point.

:roll2:
Yeah......they're totally gonna kick LSU out of the SEC over this. Or LSU will up and leave. Definitely a legitimate possibility here in the real world.

Nobody is arguing that.
right, we're just the only ones being sued over it.

So you don't really hate it. All it takes is your team doing it, and then magically you're fine with it.

what fucking part of I don't think ANY of these kids should be eligible and none of this shit should even be happening are you not grasping?
that's my personal opinion on the rule.
that includes these guys, players getting 6th, 7th, 8th, years of eligibility, etc.
I think it's all complete bullshit that this is even happening.

but I don't get to make the rule.

but if this is the rule (by way of court injunction), then I pretty much expect any head coach to go out and try to field the best roster he can. That's part of his job.

I don't have to like it to see that it's bullshit that only one school is being raked over the coals and being sued by name over it.

No team was ignored.
so where's the list of lawsuits against other schools doing it?
where is the impromptu SEC meetings to hurry up and release penalties against Alabama when they did it?
when were the court cases with the SEC pushing back and appealing injunctions for any of the other kids at other schools?

Not same here. At the time, Tressel was Jesus. He reversed the Michigan curse, and he ended a 34 year NC drought. And we STILL ran his ass out of town. And everybody understood why. We accepted that he lied and got caught. So.....not exactly the same approach you're taking.
you're right, it's not the same.
because there was no precedent over the previous several years of it being an accepted practice to go along with what the courts said on the subject like there is here.

:roll2:
Yeah......they're totally gonna kick LSU out of the SEC over this. Or LSU will up and leave. Definitely a legitimate possibility here in the real world.
I don't think that will happen.
but at this point, nothing would surprise me.

There’s a point of view that since a team is a member of a conference they should just follow the rules of the conference.

I understand that the first player or two were on their way to LSU before the rule was enacted, but the reaction after the SEC made the rule could have been “Sorry guys, we‘re not allowed to add you to the team now.”
