Boise State looks like a lock from the underlings…that still leaves one team. This is where it gets really interesting because teams who make it to the CC but lose (ACC or BigXII) will be at a disadvantage compared to teams place 3rd to 6th somewhere else who don’t play the extra game.

Clemson? SC? SMU? BYU? Iowa State?
Fuck Dabo.

That said, it'll be SMU.

The B1G XII doesn’t have a guaranteed spot unless they’re one of the 5 highest rated champions. They have to finish above Tulane to get a spot, which isn’t guaranteed at this point.

But I think the last spot will go the the ACC CCG loser, as long as that team only has 2 losses.

SEC fines Oklahoma, Auburn after fans storm field in upsets over Alabama, Texas A&M

The Sooners were hit with an extra $100,000 because fans stormed the field before the end of the Alabama game

The SEC has fined Auburn and Oklahoma a combined $300,000 for a violation of the league's access to competition area policy after fans from both teams stormed the field following Week 13 upsets. Both programs incurred a $100,000 fine as first-time offenders, but the Sooners were tagged with an additional $100,000 after fans stormed the field early, causing a delay.

This has been a season of heavy fines for the conference. Most recently, LSU and Ole Miss were given hefty fines for different offenses. LSU became the second school fined $250,000 this season for fans throwing trash and debris onto the playing surface, while Ole Miss received a $350,000 fine for fans rushing the field after a win over Georgia.

SEC = "The No Fun Conference"...

Urban Meyer Can't Fathom Lane Kiffin Assertion That Coaches Want to Avoid SEC Title

The Ole Miss coach said that some of his fellow SEC coaches are hoping to avoid the conference championship game ahead of the CFP.
welp, Lane is definitely avoiding it this year.
If A&M loses this game, only 3 SEC teams will have fewer than 3 losses - Texas, Georgia, and Tennessee.
So 3 SEC teams, 4 Big Ten teams, 1 ACC team, 1 Big 12 team, Notre Dame, and some shlub. That's 11 teams. Who's the 12th team? Will a 3-loss SEC team get in?

this is the damndest year I can ever remember for the SEC.
there really isn't a dominant team anywhere in the conference.
Texas got about the easiest conference draw you could ask for and is the only reason they sitting with just 1 loss (to the only good team they've played)

you have a few that have looked really strong in a game or two.
but then those same teams have all had some "WTF was that?" games as well.

Alabama looked really good against Georgia
then looked like liquid shit against Vandy and OU.

Georgia looked solid against Texas.
but should have lost to Kentucky, got throttled by Ole Miss.

Texas' best win is freaking Vanderbilt.

A&M was dominant in 2nd half against LSU, but got steamrolled by South Carolina and Auburn even had a huge lead on them.

Tennessee played well against Alabama by got handled by Arkansas.

I think all of them are good teams. But none are great.
sure any of them could get hot a make a run in the playoffs.
but all of them are plenty capable of laying an egg if they get in as well.

looks like as good of a spot as any to point out that UMASS has played more ranked SEC teams so far this year than Texas has.
UMASS has also played more teams with a winning conference record in the SEC than Texas has.
Yep, and UMass has as many wins over currently ranked SEC teams as Texas has.
