I am in a discussion with an SEC fan (Bama) on another site about SEC bias in ranking and discovered this little fact. Pretty incredible:
Because SEC bias is real. Hell, there is a lot of people who think the SEC champ should AUTOMATICALLY get a playoff spot. SEC teams are regularly over ranked and given the benefit of the doubt. Of the undefeated teams, an SEC team is ranked highest. Among 1 loss teams, an SEC team is ranked highest. Among 3 loss teams an SEC team is ranked highest and among 4 loss teams an SEC team is ranked highest. There are no 2 loss SEC teams but I assure you they would be ranked highest.

If Ohio State and Okie were to lose decisively this weekend while UGA loses close or in overtime, you're looking at a 2-loss non-champ SEC team getting in over 3 P5 champs and an undefeated G5 on a 24 game winning streak. If that's not a catalyst for change, I might seriously consider checking out of college foosball fanhood.

Exactly. UGA will have 2 if they lose to Bama this weekend and there are actually people out there who are serious when they say a 2-loss UGA could potentially stay at 4 even if Big 10 and Big 12 champ finish 12-1. (don't think it will happen bc nobody wants to see Bama vs. UGA again) But it is unreal.
You would think the Big 10 would garner some respect with their Bowl record from last year but people seem to forget already that the weasels blew their game or the Big 10 would have gone undefeated in Bowl season.

there was no CG in 2011.
i distinctly remember the season just ending after LSU beat UGA in SEC CG.
