There's nothing wrong with not spiking it if you have a play called. It was just unfortunate that the guy slipped. That error could have happened whether they took a chance to spike before that or not.

The problem was not them trying to run a play the problem was the coaching decision to run on a substitution. If you are making a substitution clock in then run on the sustution. Don't try and run him out there with the clock running especially to far side of the field.

True.

I like the call to run a play instead of spiking it because they had momentum and it keeps Satan from setting up his defense - the substitution was not a good move though.
