Henderson has to reschedule OU visit
Friday, November 13, 2009
Posted by Bill Kurelic
The country's No. 1 offensive tackle and the No. 4 overall prospect in the ESPNU 150, Seantrel Henderson (St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham), has made official visits to Ohio State and Notre Dame. Henderson's next official visit was supposed to be this weekend to Oklahoma, however, that visit has been postponed because Cretin-Derham has advanced in the state playoffs.
"We play Eastview on Saturday night, so we will have to reschedule the Oklahoma visit," said Seantrel's father Sean. "But we haven't actually rescheduled it yet."
In addition to Ohio State, Notre Dame and Oklahoma, Henderson is also considering USC, Florida, and possibly Miami and Minnesota. Ohio State, Notre Dame and USC may have the edge at this point.
Cretin-Derham Hall's 6-foot-7 1/2, 335-pound lineman, Seantrel Henderson, will make an unofficial visit to Iowa this weekend. Henderson's next official recruiting visit is Dec. 4 to Southern California. His final visit is Dec. 12 to Florida. He'll announce his college decision Feb. 3. There are no clear frontrunners.
Henderson will play in the U.S. Army All-American game in January in San Antonio, Texas.
By the way, Henderson's father, Sean, is 6-4, 225 pounds; his mother, Bree, is 5-7 1/2.

A new No. 1?
Is there really anyone who can overtake Seantrel Henderson's spot as the No. 1 prospect in 2010? I've always thought of offensive tackle as the second-most important position on the field, and I find it extremely hard to see anyone claiming that top position at the end of the year besides him.

There is absolutely no question that Henderson is a big-time talent. And I agree with you, he plays the extremely important position of offensive tackle. Henderson, from Saint Paul, Minn., has the physical tools and frame to be a three-and-out guy at the next level and play on Sundays. Having said all that, I think he's the safest pick at the top end of the recruiting spectrum.

Cretin-Derham Hall senior quarterback Mark Alt has made an oral commitment to play hockey at the University of Minnesota, but he is finding it increasingly difficult to ignore the passion and desire deep within to play Division I football.
In that search to see if his future lies with pigskin rather than a rubber disc, he will travel to Iowa City today for an official visit to the University of Iowa, which plays host to Minnesota in a Big Ten Conference game. He is bringing an updated r?sum? worthy of a top-level collegiate quarterback.
Alt completed 15 of 17 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns while directing an offense that rolled up 563 total yards in a 45-19 victory over Brainerd in the Class AAAAA semifinals Friday night at the Metrodome.
Alt is also bringing something else with him to Iowa City: teammate Seantrel Henderson, the massive lineman and top-ranked recruit in the country. Henderson is making an unofficial visit.
Following the Raiders' victory, which propels them into the big-school Prep Bowl championship game on Friday, Henderson was asked if he can envision a package deal of him and Alt playing at Iowa.
"I don't know if it would necessarily be a package deal, but if he decides to go to Iowa and I decided to play at Iowa, then I would love the opportunity to be able to play with him again,'' Henderson said.

So, we'll see. I will now discreetly exit, my eyes glued to my shoes. Great website. Good luck this season, fellas.

Said Henderson: "It went really well."

The nation?s No. 1-ranked football player, Seantrel Henderson, hopes to lead Cretin-Derham Hall (St. Paul, Minn.) to the Class 5A state championship on Friday against undefeated Eden Prairie.
The 6-foot-7, 325-pound senior offensive tackle hasn't allowed a sack all season and has helped the Raiders compile an 11-1 record.
?We haven?t been much of a rushing team (in the past), but we?re averaging 203 yards a game and most of it?s behind him," coach Mike Scanlon said. "Everybody knows when we run, we?re going to run behind him.?
Scanlon added that despite all the pre-season hype, Henderson has performed ?better than even we expected. He has done nothing to diminish his reputation.?
Thus far, Henderson has visited Ohio State and Notre Dame. He also plans to visit Florida, Oklahoma and Southern California, but he will have to work those trips around his upcoming basketball season.
