the 49ers just put together a draft that might mean they can go after FAs in the next few years to fill gaps instead of having to resign aging players to do the same.

Their last two drafts have been going that way...

Niners also added Shayne Skov as a UFA. Realy like that pickup. He had some 3-4 round grades heading up to the draft and should add depth to LB and contribute on special teams. That could be a real steal.

Morgan Breslin out of USC could contribute as a pass rusher.

I was happy they picked up Skov too. I see a lot of him living in the Bay Area and was surprised he wasn't drafted. He's a little slow and a little erratic but he also makes a lot of plays.

Skov could be the next Burfict of UFAs...I really wanted the Bengals to pick him up when he was available rounds 6-7. However, I think he fits into the SF defense better and will excel there.

5. Not so Raw Hyde

Carlos Hyde. All eyes are on you. The 49ers have lost two running backs to injury so far. Kendall Huntersuffered a torn right ACL andLaMichael James went down with an elbow injury, which isn't considered to be as serious, according to multiple reports. That means the rookie runner will have a chance to be Frank Gore’s backup this season. So far, Hyde has shown he can stand out in a crowded, 90-man practice field.

After staying relatively injury-free for most of 2011 and 2012, they've been getting hit hard last year and so far this summer.

Blaine Gabbert still sucks, no surprise there. Hopefully Kaep can stay healthy.

El Guapo beasting in the first half again. Love what Frank Gore has done for this franchise, but it's gonna be hard to keep the ball out of Hyde's hands this year.
