From what Sam is telling staff and JB Shugarts, I wouldn't count him as a lock... Awful lot of pandering for an offer from Sam...

as most recruits are doing now a day. He wants the offer just to have it, samething he did with USC. Sam is a Wolverine, but you can believe what you want. You won't see anything from him publicly regarding his commitment til the end of summer.

Absolutely a possibility. We discussed that 2 months ago as a motive...I specifically remember citing Laguna.

If the staff were in to see him along with Shugarts, and they still didn't offer, I'd say he's not going to get an offer; period.

Just a reminder of a past statement by McGuffie ... (Scout Prep site).

"I want an offer from Ohio State too," said McGuffie, who benches 340 pounds, squats 500 and power cleans 305. "I'm really waiting for that offer too. Coach (John) Peterson says that he's watching my tape and that he's coming down to check me out. I haven't been there yet. I think I'm going to visit there when I go up to Michigan for my official (visit). It would be a hard decision if I got an offer from Ohio State and USC."

Wonder if holds by those plans?
