S Vonn Bell (All B1G, All-American, National Champion, Cincinnati Bengals)

Bell will visit the Knoxville campus this weekend with his family. He already has visited Ohio State and Alabama and had an in-home visit from Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban last Monday. Coaches are allowed only one in-home visit, and Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer used his one-on-one day when Ridgeland played in Georgia?s Class AAAA state final, spending time with Bell in the locker room before and after the game and sitting in the stands with his family during the game.

I don't think UFM visit counts as an in-home, does it?

In no way is that true, he wants some suspense. James Quick called us the slight leader the day before his announcement. Most recruits want some element of surprise when they make their selection...everyone has him pegged to Bama, he isn't going to name them the leader and eliminate all doubt. Nothing wrong with it, just saying that no way all 3 teams are equal this late in the game.

Jadeveon Clowney said every school was even and he wanted to look around too. One of his best friends from high school told me afterwards that he knew where he was going since his sophomore year of high school.

I highly doubt all three schools are "dead even" this late in the process. I hope we get Vonn, if not good luck to him.

Just because he says this doesn't mean it is true. Recruits say this stuff all the time when they know darn well which school they are choosing. Helps keep up the suspense. Negative Nancy rant over :)

Might as well just close the thread then...

Huh, I thought you were a Mod.

Yep, I could close it, but I was being [somewhat] sarcastic. Let's try a novel approach and back off the personal opinions and let our BPRT (or any other member with valid updates) keep us posted on real info...

BUCKEYES IMPRESS VONN BELL: 4-star safety Vonn Bell from Rossville in Ridgeland, Ga., visited more than 10 schools over the past couple of months including Auburn on Feb. 25. But a recent trip to OhioState stood out the most to Bell, who doesn?t have a timeframe for a decision.

?OhioState was my favorite visit,? Bell told 247Sports. ?I really liked the people. They separated themselves from everyone else. I liked the coaches and the players I met at the position meetings. It was a great experience.?

After talking to people at Under Armour I'm ready to put Ohio State as the favorite to land five-star safety Vonn Bell.

ESPN $ - Buckeyes, Tide or Vols for DB Vonn Bell

Will take his officials and then make a decision. Says he's looking forward to seeing the atmosphere at Ohio State again and being around the players & coaches. Says he has an in-home visit planned with Nick Saban on the 14th, just before his Alabama official.

****So, I am just throwing this out there: What has changed between all of this and where we sit today? Does one gut beating NC win really make that much of a difference? On what basis is it a foregone conclusion that Bell is Bama's to loose? Not saying he is coming to tOSU but just curious why everyone has written him off?
