S Vonn Bell (All B1G, All-American, National Champion, Cincinnati Bengals)

Not lending any credibility to that tweet, but not getting his commitment this weekend makes Bell a huge uphill battle imo. If anyone can beat out Saban heading into NLOID, it is Meyer. However, Bama has all the momentum after curb stomping ND and Saban closes better than anyone + gets the visit closer to NLOID. Unless there is a game changing in-home later (which I see as unlikely this late in the game), I just see Bell going to Bama. Hope I'm wrong though, Bell is the most impressive safety in this class outside of perhaps Sua Cravens.

The Saban-Meyer battle for recruits will be a yearly thing. They are 2 of the best recruiters leading up 2 of the best teams. We will win some of these and lose some. I'd love to have Bell in this class but am trying to be realistic about the chances.

Getting the commitment from Bell that we all hope for would be spectacular, but no one should be surprised or offended if he chooses the national champions. Instead, remember that Saban also offered the likes of Trey Johnson, Michael Hill, Joey Bosa, Evan Lisle, and Eli Apple. And then smile.
