Miami- Mike Doss can't deliver any messages to the Chicago Bears. Knee surgery in October ended his season.
But he has a message for the Browns.
"Tell [General Manager] Phil Savage if he doesn't sign me in free agency, he'd be making a big mistake," Doss said Thursday at the Indianapolis team hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

so you are saying... not many people have played in super bowl Twice? I can list few. He's a good player and if he is like Mike Doss of old, then he'll get a chance to play in SB again.

Getting to a SuperBowl in this day of free agency is a crapshoot. Sign with the right team and you'll have your shot. It's not like the days of old when you get stuck on some shit team for your entire career. Mike has as good a shot as anyone else does at playing in a SB. As a consolation, guess what; playing or not, if the Colts win Mike gets a ring too.

Show me where I said or gave any indication to not many people have played in a super bowl twice? Another moronic statement used to pad your post total.

Nobody even knows what team he will be playing with next year. How can you predict that he'll play in a Super Bowl when you don't even know what team he'll play for? Throwing out blank predictions with no fact to support them is useless and has no place on this thread. That is why I gave you a ding. And your vulgar private response will get you nowhere on this board.

As NFBuck said, making a super bowl is a crapshoot. There is no way that based on Mike Doss' skill alone any team is going to the Super Bowl. In fact, (I could be wrong on this) if memory serves Doss wasn't even a starting S for Indy this season. And their willingness to part with him shows that.

I understand your desire to support a Buckeye, but find an intelligent way to do so.

Just to clarify, he was the starter until he got injured. He was also doing pretty darn good (this year). But you are right that Indy seems to be very confident with Bethea taking over. Mike will probably be testing the markets.

I don't think Indy's coaching staff thought too highly of Doss' gun incident. I think the staff began to put trade feelers out to other teams around when the combination of the gun incident occured & coincided with other good safeties emerging on the Colts.

Ok. Thanks for the info. I couldn't find any early season depth charts in a reasonable amount of time for the post. It was going off memory, which wasn't too good.

Brian Russell is currently a FA I believe so the Browns could choose not to resign him, and with the re-occuring health issues of Jones and Poole you never know whats going to happen there.

McKinley High School graduate Michael Doss scored the football trifecta on Sunday: Championships in high school, college and professional football.
Doss celebrated the Super Bowl championship with his Indianapolis Colts teammates following a 29-17 win over the Chicago Bears in the Super Bowl in Miami. Doss did not play; he tore the ACL in his left knee in October and has been on injured reserve since.
