Indeed. And I love it. This guy really impressed me in the Allstar Game. He looks LEGIT to me. Not sure what it is about him, call it a little bit of swagger, confidence, etc.

He just seems to play like he thinks he is the biggest stud on the field and I don't mind that at all if he can back it up.

No kidding, at least the depth now seems much more appealing. If these guys can come in and compete we will have options which is enough to get guys fired up to perform better.

Hard to take too much from a game against Kent State, but I really liked what I saw out of Smith, both in the field and on special teams. Seems like it's been a while since we had a real dynamic athletic playmaker in the secondary, and he looks like one.

He wasn't afraid to come up in run support. How can we keep him off the field for this and next season? With Powell and Bell/Burrows there's a ton of talent. I'd imagine either Smith/Burrows end up as our Nickle

Dude is a total stud. He just has a certain swagger and presence on the field to back it up. I have said it before but it would not surprise me if he ends up in the top 3 guys from a LOADED 2014 class. Wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Agree...he looked fast, aggressive, confident. Obviously a kid with all the right tools. Should be fun to watch him develop!

Powell was clutch but Smith seems like the better overall athlete. I wouldn't be surprised to see a job-sharing scenario like with Grant and Raekwon last year. Smith has to get solid minutes this year so that he's a veteran in 2016.

I hope to see a lot of opportunities for Smith to learn and grow next fall. He saw spot duty and looked like a talented true freshmen who wasn't close to ready.
