RYAN DAY SAYS CALEB DOWNS COULD SEE SNAPS AT RUNNING BACK IN 2024

“We started having conversations with Caleb during the recruiting process of him doing a little bit of running back as well,” Day said. “It’s something he wanted to do. We’ve been having him in the meetings and some of the individual drills – as a possibility there if he’s needed down the road – to continue to build depth at the position.”

As cool as that sounds since he is a supremely gifted athlete, please never put him at RB unless absolutely necessary. We need him roaming center field in the secondary much more.

Just sayin': JMHO, honesty in recruiting is a major issue here. If Day promised Downs that he would make every effort to give him some snaps as a RB during his recruiting, Downs proved he could do the job in prictices, and Downs still wants to gets some meaningful snaps as a RB; I do think that Day should make an honest effort to fulfill his recruiting promise.

Getting injured on a carry for the season would by the ultimate nut punch though. I couldn't see meaningful carries, maybe like Gamble or X man but no more
Who was that nerd that played for the piss and blue. He played pretty much every defensive position except free safety, and they even put him in on offense a couple of times. I think he got only one interception all career, and that was a gift interception. I think he went in on offense against Sparty and they burned all of their time outs trying to figure out how to handle that issue. Anyway, the Clowns drafted him and played him at free safety - the one position he never played. Except they played him so deep he was basically punt returner on every single play. Why do the Browns make dumb decisions? Like, there's dumb decisions that are dumb, and then there are dumb decisions that are dumb where even I ask why do they make dumb decisions...

Anyway, back to the point of the thread - I vote that they don't use him on offense any more than a gadget thing to make the other team burn all of their time outs trying to figure out what to do.
