Maryland could be Crabcake Aggy, John Waters Aggy, Old Bay Aggy...

Rutgers athletics director Julie Hermann issued a public apology last hour to Penn State for an official RU Facebook page that showed several photos of tailgating Rutgers fans wearing "Beat Ped State" T-shirts in reference to the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal.
Hermann, who took office last year, called the references a "classless display" of "a handful of Rutgers fans" during the run-up to Saturday night's PSU football game in Piscataway, N.J. She had this statement posted on scarletknights.com at 12:01 p.m. today:
On behalf of Rutgers University and the Athletic Department, we would like to apologize for the regrettable actions of a handful of Rutgers fans on Saturday that do not convey the message of good, competitive spirit that we look forward to having with our new Big Ten rival Penn State University.
Some of the signage and t-shirts that we have been made aware of were both inappropriate and offensive.
I have spoken with and apologized to the Penn State athletic director Sandy Barbour and I would like to apologize equally to the Penn State University fans, as well as Rutgers fans that were subjected to this classless display that does not represent the ethos of our university, athletic department or fan base.
The two inappropriate pictures that appeared briefly on our Facebook page as part of a 200-picture montage were immediately removed when we were alerted to their content.
It is unfortunate that the actions of a few spoiled an otherwise historic and recording-setting night that Rutgers fans provided for our first Big Ten football game.

Rutgers and Penn State had a long, continuous series of games in the 1980s and 1990s but had not played for 19 years until RU's inaugural Big Ten contest on Saturday night. The schools were placed in the same Big Ten division and will play each year from here on. The next game in Piscataway is echeduled for 2016.

What were they "recording?"As I remember it, the Rutgers football team did a pretty bang-up job of spoiling an
So what's next? A national referendum to unconditionally apologize to Jerry-Raping-Sandusky for putting him in prison?
I don't know how much more official kissing up to Ped State I can stomach. And those of us who don't choose to soil our lips by following suit...we're the ones who are conducting ourselves badly? It's like watching a horribly spoiled child throw a tantrum and having every adult in sight falling over themselves to placate the brat. I understand that forgiveness has a place in the world. But, not everything in the world is forgivable.
