So far Ross earns about the best grade he can for me. I know its early and the body of work will play out, but I think he was at the very least the perfect hire to replace Gene in the modern landscape of CFB. I also get the sense he is brutally honest and will not let loyalty override results at the end of the day. If he keeps it up, he is going to be here for a long time and I say that not only because of the Natty in football.
He is going to have quite the road ahead. Fundraising for an updated WHAC, while also promoting OSU FB for NIL purposes (balancing act). Figuring out how profit sharing will play out, while trying to keep non-revenue making athletics. Representing OSU interests in the new super conferences.

Should be interesting.

For sure, it's going to be tough. Gene left at the right time and the torch passed to the right guy built the best to do it though. Not an indictment on Gene, but it seemed to be perfect timing.

But it's a small body of work, so I'm not going to make any bold proclamations about the future. Just that it looks like a home run hire to start, hope he can keep it up.

“We've had so many disruptions over the last five-plus years that I think the time is now to not be reactive, be proactive,” Bjork said. “When we had this setting here with the commissioners, our job was to provide feedback on what was it like to go through the 12-team playoff ... but it all gets impacted by the calendar. I felt it was important to lay that out with everyone in the room to say, separate from the CFP process, if we don't fix our calendar as an industry, then we're going to continue to have unintended consequences.”
