Rose Bowl - USC 32, Michigan 18 (FINAL)

I've bolded an interesting fact from this article.

usatoday

swapContent('firstHeader','applyHeader');LOS ANGELES ? Both teams say the anguish is behind them now, here at the Wannabe Bowl.

The only thing wrong with the Rose Bowl, of course, is that it's not the national championship game, where the Michigan Wolverines and USC Trojans wannabe.

But Michigan was beaten at Ohio State and USC was upset by UCLA, so they'll be in Pasadena Monday playing for pride and not in Arizona next week playing for No. 1. The Granddaddy Consolation Prize of Them All.

There have been 92 previous Rose Bowls. In none of the 92 were both teams coming off a defeat. And these were not just any defeats. These were gut wrenching, dream-shattering, pain-inducing affairs.

Saints' Reggie Bush Not Welcome at USC's Rose Bowl Festivities

Saints running back Reggie Bush won the Heisman Trophy at USC just a year ago, but thanks to allegations that he took improper benefits there, he's now persona non grata. Although he'd be able to make the trip with the Saints having a bye before the playoffs, USC officials have told him not to show up at the Rose Bowl. As Fox's Jay Glazer reports:

USC is likely trying to distance itself from Bush after a man named Michael Michaels alleged that he allowed Bush's parents to move into a $757,000, 3,000-square-foot home he owned in Spring Valley, a San Diego suburb. According to Michaels, Bush's parents failed to pay any of the agreed upon $4,500 monthly rent on the property before Michaels evicted the family. Michaels also alleged that he paid for Bush's family to travel to some USC road games during the 2005 season.

Glazer points out that O.J. Simpson is welcome at USC and Bush isn't. Which Heisman-winning runner would you rather have associated with your team? Bush's feelings are probably hurt, but he's better off focusing on the playoffs -- that's no doubt what Matt Leinart wishes he were doing.

As much as it pains me to say it...

"GO BLUE" in the RB (although its hard to not to say the previous version, "GO BLO"). Not sure what it is, maybe because we're having success against UM, but I just just don't "hate" them as much as I used to. Don't get me wrong, I'll want blood and death when we play them, but I tend to see them as part of the B10 family. And this year especially, the rest of the family pretty much sucks. tOSU and UM make the B10, we need each other to succeed or the more we're going to look like the ACC or Big East. And I truly believe we have the greatest rivalry in all of sports. That rivalry needs both teams to be playing at the top of their game.
