Fwiw, this will be the first time in the history of Scout ratings (started in 2001) that we did not sign a 5 star. No idea how you drop Hilliard like that on an injury alone though, he should be a 5* no doubt. To wit, they totally swung and missed on all of our LBs...how in the world is Nick Connor not in top 300? That is absolutely ludicrous. And Baker HAS to be in the top 100, especially after his playoff/state championship performance...on that note, it is just puzzling because they gave Landers due credit after his late performance with a 4* rating. The rest of the rankings are definitely arguable either way but the rankings of our LBs is puzzling to say the least.

Would love to see our annual "surprise" commit be Gustin...kid is unreal talented and supposedly leaning hard to USC. I could see him playing right away if he comes here. I would say Beckner but I wouldn't say that would be a huge "surprise."

And Dontre, Jalin, JT, Bosa, Bell, Price, and Elliott were all 5 or highly rated 4 stars. Also a 3 star in that class? Tracy Sprinkle, Donovan Munger, and Timothy Gardner. Sometimes the 3 stars overachieve but if you fill up a class with them...you end up being Indiana. But we have a number of 3 stars in this class but the bigger barometer to me is that the staff went after them early and none were Plan B types. What the staff prefers > Star ratings.

Edit: Wanted to make clear that Munger and Sprinkle still have plenty of time to contribute and turn into good players...was moreso just indicating early performers.

I remember a segment of the OSU fan base that criticized Urban for not going after many Ohio or Midwest recruits... I think this proves that theory false
