You never tire of dancing and spinning, do you ndc? I realize your arguments would be crushed if you actually acknowledged the rebuttals directly, but you're just bringing shame upon your own fanbase with these posts.

1) This is a COLLEGE football thread. The fact that it hurts your argument doesn't change the reality of it. Your endless attempts at spinning this to a pro argument are useless. They don't apply here. Do you understand this distinction?

I have no idea what this sentence means, but you'd be wise to heed his first suggestion.

2) Bettis & Watters were NOT better in college. Griffin had 3 times as many rushing yards, and two more heisman trophies. Ask anyone outside of south bend, heck ask 90% in the town, who was the better college running back.

3) When discussing 'greatest ever' or 'top-5 RB' lists, Archie's name is mentioned often for CFB rbs. Neither Bettis or Watters are mentioned for either CFB or NFL.

So what you are saying is that all the sudden Watters and Bettis became great backs the minute they reached the pro"s ? I dont think so.....

We're saying they weren't as good as Archie in college, although you insist they were...

It is completely conceivable that Bettis became a better running back once he entered the NFL: he was only 21, certainly young enough to improve substantially for years to come, into the great back he ultimately became. Ricky Watters may have had a nice overall career but was never a great RB.

No, but good try at more spinning. How they blossomed in the pros is irrelevant to a CFB thread, yet you clutch to it desperately b/c it's all you have in this argument.

No one is saying Watters & Bettis weren't good in college. They were not elite, all-time greats in college.

BTW, if Ricky Watters was an all-time great coming out of college, why didn't he go until later in the 2nd round?

Ricky and Bettis played in an option offense that shared the ball among several backs including the QB. ND was loaded on offense when they played.

You guys are still avoiding my question... if Archie was so great why did he never reach that potential in the pro's ??

Here is the main point. Archie is often hailed as one of the top 5/10 RBs in CFB history. What top5/10 RB list features Bettis or Watters?

a) Best RBs to play for a particular team (steelers, domers, etc)

b) _____ ????

How many undersized RB's & WR's do well in the NFL after starring in CFB?

Ted Ginn was lethal in the college game. If he can't cut it in the pros at his size, does that change what he did in college?

We've already mentioned--ad nauseum--factors such as the Bengals' OL, coaching, offensive scheme, etc. And maybe Archie was indeed a little smallish for the pros. That stil doesn't change the fact that he was the premier college back in his day and is truly one of college football's all-time great players, not just all-time great running back. There's a reason why he won the Heisman not only once but twice...
