Pitino, who ̶i̶s̶ was the highest paid coach in basketball, made nearly $7.8 million for the 2016-17 season, according to USA TODAY's salary database.

Just wondering: Who does Louisville have that is "squeaky clean" to serve as interim coach this season? My guess is: NOBODY, and that the entire Louisville basketball program is "rotten to the core". It will be interesting to hear who they pick, how they try to make him appear to be "squeaky clean", and how many of the players on the current roster remain eligible.

Louisville definitely does not want to make the "at least one coach at University 6" mentioned in the investigation (above) interim head coach and if you don't positively know who he was (or they were) you might not want anyone off the current staff.

Just sayin': On this short of notice, Louisville could do a lot worse. Besides what difference does it make? If they don't get the death sentence; they will likely be on probation, have reduced scholarships, have recruiting restrictions, and have post season bans for several years to come.

Not sure Crean wants to go through that, again.

i.e. IU after Kelvin Sampson

Makes me wonder about what might be going on Up in Minnesota with their basketball program turning around pretty quickly but I do not know if you can find any good hookers up there.

"See this swanky Nike duffel bag? One way or another, it's yours. Now you can either sign this here Letter of Intent and fill that bag with $100k and walk out of here a Gopher, or sign elsewhere and find this bag in your apartment in Lawrence stuffed with your mother after we put her through a wood chipper.

What's it gonna be, kid?"

Aren't both Crean and Matta getting paid for staying home? Not sure how those buyouts are worded in terms of taking another coaching job.

Apparently Crean's buyout is $4 million.

Matta is in line to get roughly $8,811,000 over the next three years. The artlcle doesn't mention if there is an offset if he takes another job.
