I don't think you move Dick Wad to open his bowels for just $90,000.

Yep, but to pay more you have to be able to bring in more... Texas A&M, Florida State and Penn State could do it, will have to do it, but in the end I still believe the standard is set by the schools I listed. You need a stadium and a TV revenue stream to produce the bucks the ten schools I listed have both... possbible exception being USC. I don't know how well they draw, but they certain have a lock on So Cal TV.

But, HTM, the song is wearing thin, the band is out of tune, you can't hum along with this crap, and we sure as hell ain't gonna dance to it...so, why not just let it go? You made your point and we understand why you might want to see the world that way. We think you are dead wrong. Time will tell.
Steve-o's got a point. I seem to remember someone telling me they were amazed I kept looking....and that was like three weeks ago. So I'm going cold turkey. One week, we'll see if I can keep out of this thread for one solid week. Not to post, not even to look. That's my pledge. Unless something earthshattering happens, I'm not gonna post or peek until this time next week.

Sports contracts are 90% boilerplate (that means, they're generally the same) If not more. It's fill in the blank, more or less. RRs is no different. But then, neither is anyone else's.

As for people breaking the terms of sports contracts..... If you don't realize by now that sports contracts are meaningless you haven't been paying attention.

wow so much hate

You know, the "We're above football, we don't take it seriously, we don't get fanatical," crap is one thing that just really gets my fever going. I've been on the OSU team bus being rocked by Michigan fans, I've heard the insults shouted at Coach Hayes, starting with 'mother fucker' and descending from there. I've heard the "our real rivalry is with the Spartans," bull shit. I've endured Desmond Howard doing Heisman poses in the Buckeye end zone. I've checked out the wolverine websites bemoaning the change from the 90s to today in The Game. Through it all I keep hearing this mantra from the Michigan faithful, "we're above football, we don't take it seriosuly, we don't get fanatical," and now, "Wow, so much hate."

You get as good as you give.

The mantra doesn't fly. Why the hell would any of you spend any time on an OSU website if it weren't for the fact that football and The Game matter a great deal to Michigan students, alums and fans?

More on The Lighter Side (Real Life) - courtesy of the Wheeling Nailers

Nailers Bring 'Eer and Buckeye Fans together - a Shred Rod night.

Plus get a discount on tickets by wearing EITHER 'Eer or Buckeye Colors!

The Wheeling Nailers, taking advantage of the rancor felt by the state's residents toward a certain former West Virginia football coach, is holding a "Shred Rich Rodriguez" night on Saturday.

....

So on Saturday night, at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, the Nailers are playing host to the Charlotte Checkers, as well as an industrial-sized paper shredder. Fans who bring in a newspaper article or picture of the reviled coach to be shredded will receive a discount off tickets.
Any fan wearing WVU apparel at the game will get $2 lopped off the ticket price.
Ohio State fans, natural enemies of Michigan, get to share the love on this one -- anyone wearing Buckeyes paraphernalia also gets a discount on tickets.

....

In addition, any fan wearing University of Michigan apparel "will be charged double in order to help Rodriguez pay his $4 million buyout to WVU," according to the Nailers' news release announcing the promotion.
