Rich Rodriguez (official thread of last laughs)

FreeP

Who can resist 4 years of patty-cake with RRod?

Unclear whether it overcomes the sting of losing to Iowa, and Harvard.

Bill Stewart was named to replace Rich Rodriguez as West Virginia coach after he directed an upset of Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl.

Rich Rodriguez

In the acrimonious aftermath of the Rich Rodriguez era at West Virginia, Bill Stewart, the head coach for about two weeks, is looking for closure, which does not seem to be in reach.

Since Rodriguez left for Michigan on Dec. 17, West Virginia University has filed a lawsuit against him; there are allegations that he destroyed documents valuable to the program; and a top player declared for the NFL draft.
"We need to start talking Mountaineer football and Michigan football and let it go," Stewart said in a telephone interview. "Rich is gone, there is a new regime here. We need to go our separate ways."

Listening to DickRod's press conference, I have to say that the whole shredding thing is likely to be a red herring. To the extent he shredded files he possessed that exist elsewhere in the university, I see that as a positive thing to do as it helps to protect the privacy of the student-athletes. To the extent he was shredding files that represented his personal notes regarding said athletes, it is almost essential that he destroy them.

There are plenty of reasons to look askance at DickRod, but the shredding incident sounds less and less like it is one of them. JMO.

And now one of the coaches who went to TSUN with Dick Wadriguez is claiming he was black balled out of contention for the 'Eer Head Coaching spot - because of race.
WVU gets new criticism, this one alleging hiring bias

Former West Virginia offensive coordinator Calvin Magee has launched another salvo in the controversy that has followed coach Rich Rodriguez's departure to Michigan.
According to Mike Brown, Magee's agent, in a story published Sunday in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, a WVU administrator told Magee that he would not be a candidate to replace Rodriguez and pointed to Magee's black skin as explanation.
Brown -- who is also Rodriguez's agent -- told ESPN.com that the administrator "is in a position to know it's true."
Mmm ... so would this be DW's agent spreading smear ammo?

Magee is now Offensive Coordinator and Associate Head Coach for TSUN.

What a fucking shit storm. I would avoid Dick Rod (and anyone associated with him). Maybe all of this isn't true, but some of it has got to stick. Where there's smoke, there's fire.

You reading this TP?

I wonder if Wade is worried....:paranoid:

Let's not go there. Remember a guy called Maurice Clarett?

Yes, and the very fact that people are invoking the name of an immature teenager and convicted felon to defend what this grown man and supposed "professional" has been doing just over the last month says all you need to know about the man's character and just what kind of mess M*ch*g*n has gotten themselves into by selling their souls to bring him in.
