Rich Rodriguez (official thread of last laughs)

prediction...

I predict:

1. in 12 months Rich Rod will be an assistant in the NFL

2. in 12 months Harbaugh will be coaching the U of M

Harbaugh makes sense in that he represents the antithesis of their problem. He's a UM guy. He's into the academic side. He is a Bo man. He beat OSU with the guarantee. He is a great recruiter.

I almost am sad to see this latest problem as I think Harbaugh may actually do some real damage as a coach at UM. RR is a slow train wreck.

Who would want to take over the program? I don't think Brian Kelly would consider it. An up-and-coming UC program is better than a crumbling UM program. Even if it is in the Big East.

With respect- I couldn't disagree more. We should all just sit back and enjoy this debacle now, because it won't always be this way.

Scout.com: ESPN has an article with a bit more info.

Predictable. Clemons is "disgruntled" a "snitch", blah, blah, blah...

Again, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Clemons leave on seemingly good terms? I don't remember any vitriol directed his way when he left. Also, you morons, if he comes out and says this, it's one thing, but he didn't say shit until questioned about the practices.

Fucking blueblood douchebag fucks. I love how they've lived on the "m*ch*g*n does it the right way" crap, but the second something like this come out, a large majority of them say it's okay because "everybody does it". Fuck them. I hope (though I know it's unlikely) that this cripples their football program as bad as it did the basketball program.

No one outside of Ohio would buy this line... the only reason to pick UC over UM is if you're building up your resume for another major gig.

He would do damage to both UM & OSU alike in that coaching position.

Jmo but I predict RR will be there for at least 4 years and that he will contend to give us a good game next year.
If you think he will be leaving this year then you have been sniffing something. Forget last year it doesn't count at all this year as far as UM is concerned Not to say it won't next year or the one after if he doesn't start winning..

huh?

after his comments about Michigan, I doubt it

his comments are precisely why the UM faithful will be begging he or Miles to come home. Miles won't come, I predict. If he doesn't, Harbaugh will represent UM accepting that they had problems and the rebuilding job.

NF...Harbaugh is a pretty good coach. UM can't afford to screw up their next hire. At least with Harbaugh they get a guy that won't go anywhere else...except possibly the NFL. Harbaugh will not do anything to tarnish the image of his alma mater.

at the end of the day, we're seeing that Rich Rod is using Michigan to validate his turnaround of WVU. He only sees UM as a stepping stone to an NFL job. That's where he wants to be and where he will end up. The NFL doesn't care about this kind of integrity issue.

1. In 12 months Rich Rod will be selling used cars.

2. In 12 months Jim Harbaugh will burn another bridge by saying something negative about UM.

What does RichRod have to offer a NFL team? His expertise of the spread option would be useless in the NFL.

"We were the strongest team in the country the last four years," Barwis said of West Virginia. "No one was stronger than us. Best conditioned, the fastest, [best] change of direction, most balance, best body awareness, most explosive."

Look, up North! It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's Supercoach! Yes, Supercoach, Strange visitor from another planet, with powers far beyond those of mortal coaches: Faster than a speeding bullet, mightier than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, Yes, it's Supercoach, and who disguised as Mike Barwiss, mild mannered strength and conditioning coach for a formerly leading semi-metropolitan university football team fights a never ending battle for speed, balance and bull shit arrogance.

Balderdash. How is Richie going to run his offense in the NFL? He isn't an never has been on the NFL radar. He's the definition of a system college coach.

Bowl streak - gone.

Winning seasons streak - gone.

Never lost to FCS/1-AA team - gone.

Never lost to a MAC team - gone.

All-time number of wins - it might take about 15 more years, but wait until Texas overtakes TSUN as the all-time wins leader.

872 - TSUN
832 - Texas

11.00 - Texas average wins last 8 years
06.00 - TSUN average wins last 2 years
08.37 - TSUN average wins last 8 years

With averages of 11 and 6, it would only take 8 years for Texas to catch them. With averages of 11 and 8.37, it would take just over 15 years.

I'll be watching that margin shrink.

UM Launches Investigation

All is well, nothing to see here.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP)?The University of Michigan announced Sunday that it has launched an investigation into allegations that its football program regularly violates NCAA rules limiting how much time players can spend on training and practice.

The announcement from Michigan athletic director Bill Martin came after a Detroit Free Press article in which players from the 2008 and 2009 teams said the amount of time they spend on football during the season and in the offseason greatly exceeds NCAA limits. The players spoke to the newspaper on condition of anonymity because they feared repercussions from coaches.
?We are committed to following both the letter and the intent of the NCAA rules and we take any allegations of violations seriously,? Martin said in a written statement.
?We believe we have been compliant with NCAA rules, but nonetheless we have launched a full investigation of the allegations in today?s newspaper,? he said.

I am kind of torn about this whole thing.

Pros
1. This could result in NCAA sanctions that would affect tsun's ability to compete.
2. It damages that morally superior image that tsun fans cling to when they don't have a football superiority to cling to.

Cons
1. Watching Dick ruin the program is funny, and I don't want it to end anytime soon.
2. Tsun's sucktitude weakens Ohio State's strength of schedule, which the BCS emphasizes.

Edit: Screw it. I hope tsun gets the death penalty and is punished by God with plagues of Biblical proportions followed by total annihilation.

A walk down memory lane to the last time UM conducted its own internal investigation. Nothing to see here as well.

The complete report detailing the seven-month investigation into the Michigan men's basketball program revealed no major violations, but called into question the relationship between Detroit booster Ed Martin and the team.
At a press conference yesterday, University President Lee Bollinger and Athletic Director Tom Goss delivered copies of the finished report to members of the media. The names of students had been deleted. A copy of the report also was delivered to the NCAA for further review.
"I'm gratified that there's no major violations," Goss said. "But ... absolutely there are things in the report about the program that are troublesome."
