Rich Rodriguez (official thread of last laughs)

Uh, what's wrong with that?

I also see nothing wrong with it. Pryor said he was still considering TSUN this morning, so when should RR have stopped trying to sell him?

If Pryor really thought that RR was 'feeding him lines', then there's an inconsistency to him also saying that he was still considering TSUN. But since he'd never even given tOSU a verbal, I can't see that RR was doing anything wrong by still recruiting him.

Edit - Pryor also said in his presser that he felt bad about saying no to TSUN since he had a "real bond" with RR.

HTM- In addition to your view that Pryor was a "foregone" conclusion, how is this playing on the S&M boards?
BY PROPORTION EXPRESSING Sentiment AS ...
  • "Foregone" forget it
  • RR did great to nearly convert TP
  • As above and we beat out State Penn
  • Wailing or Gnashing of Teeth over lack of best QB this year to fit RR's scheme
  • Next Years next best thing - moving on
  • Corvettes :paranoid:
Corvettes are a very fun car :wink2:

My take on some of those others, like beating out PSU....WTF? Nothing says "rationalization" like "yay, we came in second for the recruit!" I can understand the wailing and gnashing of teeth given the hype, and further because Russell Shepard's already an LSU commit (next year's best thing), but I'm not about to participate. John Navarre beat OSU, Zak Kustok took Northwestern to a share of the Big Ten, and Josh Heupel won a national championship. We don't need Pryor, and neither do you. Since February I've assumed that Steven Threet or Justin Feagin will be under center, so I'll skip the rending of garments. Not that I'm happy Pryor's a Buckeye, but I prefer to believe, as should any fan, that whether or not we beat you in the coming years has more to do with us than you.

Lost in all of the Barwis, Spread, Speed, etc. fawning is that UM will not be the only staff adapting and improving at how they deploy their kids.

Go look at what sets Tressel was running in 03 compared to now. The evolution will continue.

I also like the "hope springs eternal" stuff about another delay.

45% of my thought they might be right... but 50.1% was certain they were wrong.

Yeah, I chuckled (chortled?) when I read that too...I'm also fond of this response from another Pryor thread...

Had he said this a month ago, I might've cared. The way he handled this situation since made it really easy to see him committ elsewhere. Bring on the kid from Texas.

Yes, "the kid from Texas"...the one that committed to the University of LSU or the one who just transferred to Arkansas?...the wayward "Big Tex".

I just wanted to make sure everyone realizes the greatness of this post from the kid from NF.
