Anyone following tOSU knows about the hatred for scUM.

But is there ANY Big 10 team that Buckeye fans have respect for and little hatred, if any?
Wisconsin under Barry Alverez would be my only choice. I just threw up in my mouth a little bit typing that.

I look forward to MSU someday going 7-1 every year in the conference under Dantonio, too.

I always liked Joe Tiller and Purdue. I don't really know why. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that he brought an exciting offense to the Big Ten, and had some success with it (for a while).

I have a lot of respect for Joe Paterno. I used to like Penn State more, but since "they're back," their fans came out of the wood-work and have taught me that I don't like them.

As far as hatred, I don't think I hate any Big Ten team. Michigan is my least favorite, but I don't think I hate them.

Are you serious?

I respect the entire conference, and probably Michigan the most.

Like it or not, Michigan is the yan to our ying. We are each other's most worthy adversary. Without Michigan, there wouldn't be 'The Game'. We both elevate the Big Ten to 'elite conference' status.

I don't understand the blind hatred towards other schools, esp. Michigan. Athletics should be about respecting your opponent, respecting the game, respecting the traditions. Not harassing/abusing opposing fans, flipping cars and lighting dumpsters on fire.

Anyway, that's my $.02

:p

I too absolutely HATED Barry Alvarez, now that he's gone I have respect for Wisconsin.

I have respect for Iowa but their fans have some really DUMB opinions.. Like when I heard that some said Iowa was the better team in 2002 or that they were going to destroy Ohio State in 2006... Keep dreaming!

EDIT: Oh, and Drew Tate is a little cry baby bitch! There I'm done..

[BuckeyeNation27] I have the utmost respect for everything regarding Penn State. Everything about the program simply exudes integrity. It is truly an honor for me to live in Pennsylvania, surrounded by such a classy fan base. [/BuckeyeNation27]

I agree with FCB. I do respect scUM and their program. If it truly sucked, that would hurt OSU. I am sure that the respect aspect in the greatest rivalry is a two way street. Now I don't like the skunkbear fuckers, but that is separate from respect.

Since joining the Big Ten, I have actually lost respect for Penn State and the indifference I had towards their fan base has been supplanted with simple disgust.

I have some level of respect for all of the Big Ten brethren, the most for scUM, and can tolerate most fans of the other schools, with the exception now of Penn State.

How can you not respect any team in the Big ten? THe best teams in the best conference ?
And I don't hate any team , I have too much respect for them. What I hate is anyone going to tsun who is from Ohio I wish those suckers would go 4 years and never beat us. Now that would make me happy.

Respect

I respect but do not like PSU. I like how they are old school. I love when they beat sCUM. I love when and if they play Notre Dame, (i hate those fers') I like how they are "plain jane" no names.

And I like how there town reminds me ud CBUS the entire city revolves around PSU like ours does!!!

But with all that being said.... the teams I hate the worst sCUM... ND.... PSU...

LESS THAN 24HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bigten:

I vividly remember Illinois beating us every year when I was a little kid, which caused me to really dislike them. It made me sick that that game was so close this past year, especially with them having another "down" year. Zook just gives me another reason to not like 'em.

Wisconsin is like the neo-Illinois to me. They've beaten us more often than any other Big Ten team in recent memory. Hard to get them dancing on our O at midfield after they beat us one time in the 'Shoe. Plus, with the exception of Bernini and the classy Wiscy fans that frequent this site, they have arguably the worst game-day fans in college football. Rude, drunk, and confrontational to fans of the opposition. I have TONS of respect for the team, but there is no love lost there.

Overall, hard not to respect anyone in your conference because the moment you don't respect them, they beat you. The only schools I can think of that I have little respect for are for those that bend rules to get a leg up against their competition, which most often pertains to recruiting theories/morals and how a team disciplines their players for breaking the law.

I like and have tremendous respect for Wisky - and liked Alvarez.

I like and have great respect for Iowa and its coaches and what they have done given their location.

I like and respect what some of the coaches have done at NU.

I like and respect Purdue given what they have to go up against to get players.

I have respect for MSU and am delighted to see them with Dantonio - wish him all the best.

I had great respect for PSU but it was hurt by much of what happened two years ago and the role JoPa played in it.

I never had a great deal of respect for Illinois and Zook has not done anything to help.

IU - what's to respect?

I desperately want to respect Minnie because I have roots there - but they have been overrated even when they were lowly rated.

But most of all I do have grudging respect for Michigan - may they rot in hell.

FCB hit the nail on the head. And, the Michigan perspective on this question really is no different than the OSU perspective here. You have to appreciate how membership in the Big Ten implies clean programs and academic excellence as well as the fact that you can't let your guard down just because you're playing IU or Northwestern - let alone Penn State, Wisconsin, Iowa, etc.
