I usually do. Sometimes I forget. It makes me mad when I type a funny message (funny to me, at least) when I ding someone and forget to sign it. I rarely sign dings to flamers I don't think will stick around. I usually sign good ones, but sometimes I forget to sign those, too.

Actually, I doubt anyone will go for this, but what about having a maximum rep limit? I mean, does anyone really doubt anymore that grad, mili, bb, bkb et al are well respected and have been here a long time? I mean, have a new image, but have it be one thing, once you reach the top - just a single image. I think it'd be kind of a cool thing to strive for.

That's a great idea. I plan on sticking around this board for quite awhile. It's so much better here than at BN.

Both FindlayBucks and Thump bring up ideas I was thinking about, but I'd lean toward cutting the rep power...reason is that if you cap the rep power at a certain level, after a while half the board will then have the same rep power. Right now rep power is about 4% of your total rep points...maybe cut it down to 1%.

why not permit the originator to make the decision.. how much power to assign (1% - 4%).. sometimes you might want to give a bump.. others, full dosage...

I hope someone can get to work on this, maybe have a platinum buckeye leaf to represent 10 golden buckeye leaves. Grad, BB, BKB, Mili and others are adding new Buckeye Leaves exponentially and I don't want to have to buy a bigger monitor just to follow their rep.

I don't disagree with your conclusion, but I don't think 21, Mili, BB or I have ever been cheap with the rep. I maxed out my greenie distrubution yesterday and would have the day before if I'd spent a little more time on here.

I don't know about Mili or BB, as we've never talked about it, but I don't think anyone really cares to the point of being competitive about it - or otherwise holding back rep. And, for what its worth, I still give rep to 21, mili and BB if I feel they deserve it. I say that to mean your assertion that people won't give greenies out b/c they don't want other to reach... isn't true among people who've been here long enough.

In other words, when you get to the point of that kinda rep, you're past the idea that you've gotta get more than the next guy as some kind of badge of honor.

Agreed. Although I don't have as many as you do, you reach a point when it's like "Who really cares"? I have enough and will get more but I'm not trying to win a popularity contest here. The masses have spoken on who they feel they respect the most on here and who they don't and that's all.
