This statement is a perfect example of why following the reputation rankings is worthless. I am very free with rep points as I just enjoy a good conversation...regardless of how much I agree or disagree. However, whenever I give out so much rep, there is usually an influx of returned rep. That is great and a fine gesture, but that rep is usually for some one liner on some Thump "Look at my Yard" thread. On the other hand, we get into some in depth discussion about the team on the main board and there is no rep anywhere. However, I disclose what brand of mouthwash I use and rep points come rolling...

How could anyone possibly take that seriously?

In my opinion, when rep becomes something you worry about. Its time to turn that feature off.

I agree 100%. This is an excellent post, but unfortunately I will not give you greenies for it since the most outstanding aspect were the shots at Thump. :p

If not for your threads the Open Discussion forum would have about half of the traffic that it does. For some reason there is a big difference to me between Thump threads and donny threads. I think it's because Thump actually responds and I can tell he's a real person. Donny was fake.

Well that and Thumpos questions make sense..Things like what are you favorite cold medicine and then saying your favorite make sense.

Donnys would be something like this.

grad brings up a good point about how weird the reasons are that some reps are given out. I spend 3-4 hours ripping clips every game-day Saturday from game DVDs as soon as the games are over and post them on a site I pay for out of my own pocket...I may get 1 or 2 reps that week from newbies who are downloading clips for the first time (rarely will I get a rep in the clips forum from someone who repped me in the past for clips). Yet, I call some a dumbass, say something non-PC (i.e., homosexuality is abnormal or that Kanye West is a n*gger), or nuke a flamer, and I get repped huge. I would guess that less than half the reps I get are from posts dealing with the main context of this website--Buckeye football.
