Keep your head up Reggie, I can't quite imagine what you're going through, but you definitley have my deepest sorrows. RIP Mrs. Nelson, you raised a wonderful son, and I know you'll be cheering him on from above on the 8th.

Not as if there is ever a "good" time for this type of event, but so close to the holidays has to make things even worse. Heartfelt prayers will go out to the Nelson family. He should have some comfort in knowing that she'll have the best seats in the house on the 8th.

Florida S Nelson's mother dies after long bout with cancer

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida safety Reggie Nelson's mother died just hours after the All-American made it home following practice.

Mary Lakes had been battling breast cancer since October 2003. She died Thursday night, just after Nelson returned from the second-ranked Gators' final pre-Christmas practice.
