Reds tidbits 2016 (Sponge Bob Tight Canadian Pants)

just got home from my kid's game; Did that dude (I have no idea who he even is) really just walk 4 straight WITH the bases loaded? Thom had to misspeak.

That happened.

We may have just been witness to the apex my friends.

That could very well be the Redsiest things a Red has ever done in the history of Reddom.

He should definitely get a heavy fine in the kangaroo court

Union may consider revoking his card
The jury will not be merciful.

Reds team pitching (because let's face it...it isn't JUST the bullpen) leads MLB (30th/worst) in the following:

ERA: 5.56 (next worst is 5.08)
Runs allowed: 231 (next worst is 207)
Earned Runs allowed: 210 (next is 193)
Home Runs allowed: 66 (next is 58. Mets are the best with 24)
OBP: .365 (37% of the time a batter comes to the plate they fail to record an out)
Walks: 174 (next worst is 161)
Hit by pitch: 21
K-BB%: 6.5% (that is so hilariously bad it has to be seen to be believed. Mets lead MLB with 18.2% for point of reference)
BB-9: 4.61
HR/9: 1.75
BB%: 11.2
WHIP: 1.59
FIP: 5.74 (this means they are actually OUTPERFORMING what their team ERA should be. Let that sink in for a minute)

Somehow they do not lead the league in
SLG: .479 only 2nd worst
OPS against: .844 2nd worst
BA against: .275 only 3rd worst
Fewest Strikeouts: 275 only 4th worst
Hits allowed: 366 only 6th worst

Drive for 109 tracker:
Total Games 162
Games played 39
Games remaining 123

Won 15
Loss 24
Loss Goal 109

Magic Number 85
Lose % needed 69.11%
Current Losing % 61.54%
Projected losses 99.69

Tracking to lose 100 as of right now and they have clearly outperformed their peripheral stats to date. On 100 loss pace BEFORE the wheels come completely off.

The best part of this "rebuild" is there is no talent to see on a nightly basis that gives you a shred of hope for the future. I remember the 80's when the BRM had been dismantled and the minors started to produce talent you could see guys like Eric Davis, Kal Daniels, Barry Larkin, Stillwell, Esasky, Jones etc coming up and see they could play. This organization is full of guys who's ceiling is 4th outfielders/back of rotation arm.
