Lost 5 of 6 to the Cubs and Cards which will not be an isolated incident.

  • 6-6 while they are getting actual positive offensive contribution from Bruce and Phillips (not sure what Marty is blabbering about). This will not last because they will either remember who they are and quit hitting or they will be given aw traded.
  • Suarez, Cozart and Duvall, well... we shall see but I would be willing to bet Cozart won't OPS 1.124 all season long. Marty will get the natives restless about Suarez's indifference toward fielding his position soon (think EE) so his offensive production will likely suffer and Duvall is a 5th OF on a mild warm streak.
  • So they are only middle of the road as a team in Runs scored while having 5 guys hitting over their heads, Hamilton keeping his OBP slightly above .300 and only Gizmo not hitting. Soon enough Gizmo will hit and the other 6 will crater.

By pitching WAR the Reds as a team are 30th in MLB which is nice considering the braintrust built this horror show on pitching and defense. Thank god Homer is on the mend. His steady veteran presence and reliability will really help all this young pitching talent.

Just a quick snap shot on the drive to 109. I have full confidence that the wheels are coming off this bitch in spectacular fashion sooner rather than later.
