Reds tidbits 2014 (official thread of windshield licking)

Not to get lost in all the good cheer, Canada's athlete of the year is a cool 0-3 tonight.

I saw one of his more feminine AB's.

The schizo bastard went up there with the Stubbsian hitting school's fundamental approach of swinging at a first pitch breaking ball.

Needless to say it wasn't overly productive.

The fundamental stupidity of this team is stunning at times. For people who play the game for a living some of them act like they've never seen it played a day in their life.

Reaching deep into the archives: Cozart's 11 assists matches Chris Sabo, falls one short of Concepcion's 12 (1982). Reds outfield didn't record an out. Tomorrow the Reds look to sweep a four game trip in San Francisco for the first time since 1972.

Billy Hamilton's 3-for-6 night raises his line to .282/.314/.403 with 77 hits in 75 games played. If the kid ever learns to work a walk ...

I actually think he has the plate discipline to work walks now. His problem is what I'd call the Cozart effect, meaning why on earth would a MLB caliber pitcher ever walk him? I'm in a 3 ball count to him as a pitcher then the line of thinking has to be "here's the fastball big boy, do your damnedest." Nothing is 100% but the odds are that you are going to hurt me more if I walk you than if I just throw a fastball right down the middle.

With Nuke LaLoosh/"I'm a mental midget even by Reds standards"/Homer fuckhead Bailey announcing his presence with authority for 5-6 innings.

I think the record stays intact.
