Billy Hamilton's 3-for-6 night raises his line to .282/.314/.403 with 77 hits in 75 games played. If the kid ever learns to work a walk ...

I'm hoping he can settle in at something like Brett Gardner, who's a career .270/.353/.387 hitter. That would make Hamilton a pretty valuable player when you factor in his defense and base running.

Hamilton with a .350 OBP would be an extremely valuable player.

Which means of course he'll die in an outfield collision the day after he gets the OBP to that level.

and the one hit didn't happen in the inning he gave up the run

a fucking BB, SB and 2 sac flies

meanwhile the Reds band of goldenshower singers couldn't scrape together anything
:slappy: The Indians may have had you beat last night, they got one goddamned hit...and it was an infield single, and they only got that on a Manager's challenge. It will take me some time to top goldenshower singers though.

I could've sworn the Padres (who were the team that beat the Reds on one hit last night) did the same thing earlier in the season. And then I found it--they beat the Pirates 3-2 and only had one hit. The Padres are terrible, but they sure have an ability to be wildly efficient from time to time.

Now back to the Reds--they squandered two hits in the first inning and didn't score, thanks to a classic Jay Bruce whiff. So much for that average of his getting much above .240. ...and Leake promptly gives up a moon shot to the first batter he faces tonight.
