Reds Tidbits (2012 Season)

Cards lose. Reds now just a half game back.

I wonder if SI.com's Fangraphs Power Rankings will still try to assert that the Cardinals are the best team in baseball and that their early season luck is sustainable.

Looks like Berkman will be gone for a while if not the whole season. Plus you really can't expect Furcal to be batting like he has been batting. Same with Schumaker (especially Schumaker).

Everyone in their lineup outside of Holliday and Freese are off to starts where they are way above their norm. On top of that, Lohse is pitching way above his head. If the Cards don't completely fall apart, it must be something in the water (or the cream or clear as the case may be).

The NL Central completely blows. A few games over .500 may be enough to win the division.

edit: Just read early diagnosis on Berkman is torn ACL. The MRI is to confirm it, but normally they are not off that kind of stuff. Just normally the severity. Very likely done for the year and possibly career.

The Cards ability to maintain "unsustainable" levels is profound. I'll believe they are dead when they are mathematically eliminated.

They've lost 8 of 10 and our sorry ass bunch still can't catch them.
