Reds Tidbits (2012 Season)

Good win.

Yet once again proving Dusty just can't help himself. Closer closes. That angel was telling him "Chapman has been overused, let him rest" before the game, then came the 9th and the save devil beat the living shit out of that angel.

Oh well, worked out. It will be nice to see Chapman closing, but I still feel it's a complete waste of his talent and a spot completely over valued (which is finally becoming a growing belief).

Especially on a team that isn't exactly prone to long winning streaks.

Arguably best pitcher gets to come out for 1 inning a couple of times a week. Complete waste of resources.

Re: RedsZone's quest to determine whether or not Johnny Cueto is an ace...

You don't go head to head and with Grienke, Hudson and Sabathia in the last three and put your team in a position to win two of those without being an ace. That's what an ace is. It's not a guy who strikes out a certain number of guys or achieves some other kind of statistical enlightenment. It's your best pitcher and a guy who gives your team to win its share against the league's best opponents. Cueto is most definitely that guy for the Reds at this point.

By default because Latos hasn't stepped up quite yet.

I guess I didn't realize there was even a debate about Cueto being the ace of the staff.

Just because he's not the Big Unit in 1996 doesn't mean he isn't an ace.

This comment isn't meant for anyone here, but good God Reds fans are dense sometimes. Put Cueto on the Orioles and they are legit contenders for the AL East.

I'm telling you... It's in the drinking water down there.
