Reds Tidbits (2011 Season)

Quality work by Renteria. 2 errors in one inning. Not only does his range suck, but his fielding percentage is terrible (I think it's around .940). He does not deserve a spot on a major league roster. Of course that one hit last night means he will be penciled in the lineup for the next month.

and Alonzo has 2 hits in the 3 AB's Dusty has let him have his first week in the majors but can't get a start of Heisey or Lewis.

:shake:

shady things goin on with the rox and ublado

The thing I saw said the Yanks wanted a physical and the Rockies said no.

I didn't think anyone would make a major trade, especially for a pitcher, without a physical anyway but if true....how many more clues do you need?

It's pretty clear at this point Ubaldo is damaged goods. That was my big fear all along.

It appears we have a boy wonder new GM that recklessly wants to show he's SERIOUS about competing this year (despite the fact pitching is FAR from the issue...we can't hit and field like a bunch of retarded geese). Fuck me. :ohwell:

Well, there is no doubting his seriousness. I'll give him that.

I hope the fuckers arm doesn't fall off on you guys.

Was it Newton who said that for every stupid idea there is also an equal and opposite stupid idea?

Most of RedsZone has trading deadline blue balls so bad they're ready to jackhammer away at anything resembling a wet hole. To wit: the current hand-wringing over missing out on Michael Bourn (of all people), a player who the Braves just gave up four minor leaguers for. A player who is useless to the Reds' chances this year, and is a free agent next year.

Yeah, the inactivity is frustrating but at this point you hope they don't do anything epically stupid.

Holding on to hernandez however, well there is simply nothing other than incompetence to chalk that up to.

The season is lost and yet;

-Yonder Alonzo continues to ride the pine.

-The big time catching prospect continues to stay in AAA while we hold on to Hernandez (you know they will).

-Cordero continues to be a fat over paid toad out in the bullpen who could also be shopped (although his contract could make him a waiver wire trade).

But hey, we had another cup of playoff coffee last year, what fan could reasonably expect more than that every 10-15 years?

I'm not sure if you mean after the season next year or before the season next year. Bourn has one more year of arbitration, so he is essentially signed through next year.

With that said, I don't like Bourn and could do without him. I am more ticked Hernandez was not dealt. They better offer him arbitration. Of course if he is type A he will take it, and Dusty (who sadly won't be fired) will refuse to start a rookie catcher over Hanigan or Hernandez
