Reds Tidbits (2011 Season)

They are working at reaching new levels of ineptitude.

Bottom 10 tied 3-3, they get runners at 1st and 3rd with no out and can't score. :slappy:

Votto gets gunned at home plate trying to score on a sac fly.

sad part was Votto prob ran on that ball cause he knew renteria on deck and knew that be an out anyways, might as well try

Pretty much.

If Walt sits on his ass and does nothing again this off season he needs to be fired or the fans need to realize the owner is another Mike Brown.

This team needs major work.

Interesting stat...

Aroldis Chapman has not given up a hit in his last 8 2/3 innings. More importantly, he has given up 1 BB in that time. For the year opponents are batting .102 against him, and he is averaging 1.5 K's per inning. Of course that 216.00 ERA in May (no that is not a typo) really hurt him for his overall numbers. Hopefully that is just an anomaly.

BTW...it could be worse. We could be Astros fans. The Phillies just bent over the Astros with no lube and no reach around. I can't believe what the Astros took in return for an All Star who is still in his arbitration years.

Of course it begs the question, why didn't the Reds offer better? I know Singleton and Cosart are supposed to be good prospects, but they are A level guys who are not even performing that great. The other guy is complete garbage. I know the Reds are not in the race, but an all star at arbitration level salary for 2 more years would be huge for this team.

I can't believe Brown was not a part of that deal.

Par for the course. We always see all this chatter about the valuable players the Reds would have to put on the table to even enter the discussion for most trade targets, and then when the guy actually gets moved he ends up going to one of the rich large market contenders for a dogmeat return.

As someone over at RZ pointed out, the Phillies have recently traded for Cliff Lee, Roy Halliday, Roy Oswalt and now Hunter Pence without ever having to give up Domonic Brown.

Meanwhile the Reds can't ever get a deal done and mark my words they will finish Sunday night not only acquiring nothing but not trading Hernandez either.

Walt didn't get stupid on the plane ride from St Louis, ownership talks a better game but is still a fucking disgrace.

fuck this organization

looking like those stinkbags up north (not michigan, but Cleveland) are gonna be Ubaldo.

When I read the part about Colorado dropping their asking price I hoped we missed out.

There is no good reason for them to aggressively shop Ubaldo Jiminez if they don't think there is something wrong with him. I kind of bought it when they were supposedly asking for a Herschel Walker type deal but the price drop part really looked fishy to me (assuming of course that was legit info).

Bigger picture however I agree. Fuck this organization sitting on their ass and doing nothing yet again. Now when they don't sell off Hernandez and/or Cordero the annual kick in the nuts we missed on last year will be paid back in full.

In related news I used some house money to make a stupid parlay bet tonight because i was bored. 4 teamer, 3 are winning easily but the Indians are going to get shut out. It just doesn't pay to ever want an Ohio pro sports team to win.

yea, I didn't mean it just on this deal, but just this whole season (the bungals are adding to me frustration), and I dunno who cle is giving up, but come on, can it be any worse than some prospects the reds would be willing to part with?

wtf is in the water in cincinnati that turns the pro sports there full retard

Quality work by Renteria. 2 errors in one inning. Not only does his range suck, but his fielding percentage is terrible (I think it's around .940). He does not deserve a spot on a major league roster. Of course that one hit last night means he will be penciled in the lineup for the next month.
