Reds Tidbits (2011 Season)

Is it o.k. to be worried about the pitching yet?

I ask because over at t RZ you are a heretical son of a statistically ignorant whore if you try to draw any conclusions before September (they are the enlightened few who understand that fancy sample size concept) so I just wanted to get this boards rules on that before I go on a profanity laced tirade about something I may not actually be seeing.

Funny thing about the sample size argument at RZ - by the the time any sample is of sufficient size for some people it's too late for any decision based on the information to have an impact.

Anywho, go ahead with your tirade.

It was quite convenient how quickly they postponed this game. The Reds had originally planned to bring up Bailey next week because Thursday's scheduled off-day was going to be his next day to pitch, and they didn't want his arrival to disrupt the rest of the rotation (as if that really matters at this point). Anyway, tonight's game is rescheduled for Thursday, allowing the Reds to bring up Bailey a week earlier than planned.

He has caught a lot of shit over the years, but he has quickly become one of my favorite all time Reds.

Did anybody else see the contest he had on Twitter on Sunday after the game? The first person to guess his favorite dessert got tickets to the Cubs series in Chicago this weekend, airfare, hotel and dinner with him. Pretty damn cool.
