Tonight I vowed that I was just going to track Gameday and pause my video game and watch FSN for whatever half innings Votto bats in. It has turned out to be a pretty worthwhile policy so far.

Leake is just throwing a bunch of soft meatballs up there. If this were just about any other team besides HOU he would have given up at least 4 HR by now instead of 1.

Don't you just love seeing the bullpen before the 5th inning every night?

Yeah, I turned the heat back on when I got home from work this evening. It's cold and it has rained pretty much every goddamn day for the last month. I would have easily been to more than just one game by now if the weather didn't suck so bad. The team isn't helping matters either. I'll show up to watch a shitty team in nice weather. I'll show up to watch a good team in shitty weather even. I won't spend money to watch this crap and sit in miserable conditions too though.

Jordan Smith is on my list of players that need to be gone too. He was a 5+ ERA guy in AA. I kept saying that about him. It was only a matter of time. He does not have AAA stuff, let alone MLB stuff. A guy off the scrap heap is better than him.

That's why I have been saying don't get too excited about Cueto/Bailey coming back. They aren't any different than the rest of this mob. They have 5-6 guys who's realistic projection is a 4.5ish ERA and only Arroyo eats innings.

It's better than the staff during the lost decade but its laughably inadequate compared to some of the other top teams in the NL.

4.5ish is an improvement over what LeCure, Leake, and Wood have been doing.
