The Reds have agreed to terms with Cuban left-hander Aroldis Chapman on a six-year, guaranteed deal. The payout is over a long period of time, probably 10 years.
The deal will be announced tomorrow, pending a physical.
Chapman defected from Cuba after the World Baseball Classic. He throws close to 100 mph.

My other question is, does the kid really throw that hard, or is his like Homer Bailey who everybody said threw hard but is usually doing good to hit 93?

The deal with left-hander Aroldis Chapman is for $25 million over five years with a player option for a sixth. His salary for 2010 will be in $1 million range.
It?s a major league deal and it?s spread out over 10 years. The first year it will be a major burden on the big league budget is 2014.
Aroldis has thrown as hard as 102 mph. He hit 98 at workout in Houston.

The Reds are strongly rumored/reported to be the team to sign Cuban defector Aroldis Chapman. He of the lefty delivery with 100mph fastball.
If it comes to pass I don't know what to say but holy [censored]. Are they sure its the Reds?

Until they make that move kudos to Walt and the FO. I honestly didn't think they had it in them to do anything right.
