4-5 vs the NL East (Mets, Braves, Marlins) and 3-3 vs the NL West (Padres and Dodgers). Every single one of those teams is .500 or significantly better. Of course, the Reds are 22-13 vs the NL Central, and sitting at 5-6 vs the Cardinals, who are now without Lohse and Penny for two weeks.scott91575;1710570; said:and it begins, the march to below .500. Pitching is just not good, and gave false hope against the Pirates and Astros. Against decent to good teams they get rocked.
I'm not concerned yet. The middle relief needs to get better, but the farm is stocked with arms, trade fodder, and at least Volquez, Bray, Burton, and Chapman are close. The Reds schedule is heavily back-loaded, so as long as the offense doesn't go into the toilet and the pen can be patched together for the run in August, the Reds can stay in this thing.
