Reds tidbits (2010 season)

haven't been following it, but seems Reds over aggressive base running is costing them this game, was Stubbs' throw out a bad play on Stubbs or just a great play by whoever threw him out at 3rd?

It's not aggressive base running. It's stupid base running. You don't open up 1st with Votto up next, at least when there is a chance you might make the 2nd out. Of course it would have helped if Valaika could get a bunt down.

As for Stubbs, he started to trot and didn't even slide. If he hustled he was in easily. Looks like he thought the 3rd base coach was giving him the stop sign to let up and coast into 3rd. It was stupid.

Add in Bailey ignoring baserunners for two innings, and there have been a lot of plays with their heads up their ass.

Unless I missed any, that's five steals off the battery of Bailey-Hanigan, including one by the pitcher Randy Wolf. Bailey might want to work on a slide-step or that 1.5 second delivery from the stretch this winter.
