There goes Homer's night.

4-3 Redbirds.

Grand.

Slam.

When you have a 5:13 K:BB ratio its just a matter of time. Again, the simple shit that can be gleaned from even a cursory glance at the numbers if anyone in Reds management cared to look.

Bailey pitched really well. First thing, he should not have been out there in the 8th. Second, he did not give up the HR or the walk before it.

Point is when you walk that many guys something bad is going to happen. I agree he shouldn't have been out there.

Bailey was in a damn good zone tonight. Retired 12 in a row, then (I think) 5 more in a row at one point.

Only responsible for 2 of the runs off the GS. Rhodes came in walked them loaded.

Floodgates are open now. Pujols is a machine.

This has a Dusty loss written all over it.

1) Putting your young pitcher out there in the 8th when he was just under 100 pitches thrown.
2) Bringing in Weathers to pitch to a guy that bats .500 against him, and then actually having him pitch to Pujols. Give up the one run.
3) Why isn't Cordero in there in the 9th? At that point there are no more save opportunities in the game. Might as well use him.
4) Leaving Herrera in there vs. a right hander. Then after that right hander (who put the Cards up 2 runs) pulling him out. Sonofabitch. Dusty is the slowest thinking manager in the league.

Don't forget the classic Dustyball move to turn a 2 on 0 out situation into 1 measly run by the generous donation of 2 outs.

Voluntarily giving up outs isn't the answer to helping an anemic offense. Of course neither is stocking the lineup with out machines.
