Reds Tidbits (2009 season)

A 5-3 DP and a K get them out of it. :banger:

I know EE hasn't done much at the plate other than the GS Monday (His only RBI all season ), but he's being patient and his OBP is over .400. Move him up in the order so there's a chance someone might accidentally drive him in.

His defense has been respectable, too.

Micheal Bourn's arm makes Willy Taveras look like Ichiro.

He just threw a weak high-arcing duck to the plate that only Chad Pennington could be proud of.

It's a good thing Zippy Chippy wasn't playing CF for the Astros, otherwise Dustin McDonnell might have been gunned down at the plate.

Once Teh Suck kicks in sometime before the end of the month the nerves will subside, to be replaced by anger, disappointment then apathy.

This is a familiar script. Whenever the Reds start off with a halfway decent record they go out sometime before the end of April and end up losing a game by eight runs where they led by five with four outs left - then it all comes crashing back to reality.

Can't say I am too excited. They are the worst hitting team in the league, and I don't see them suddenly tearing the cover off the ball anytime soon. The pitching has been pretty good outside of a couple blow ups, but not good enough to carry this team.

You don't think T-virus can keep up the .420 OBP?

Memo to Philips and Bruce: Be careful what you wish for, it might come true.

Guys, season started two weeks ago. You might want to start driving some people in, since you're, like, the dudes now.

Anyone else say to themselves, "15, 30, or 60 day DL?" when Humpty Dumpty Hairston went crashing into the corner of the wall? What the hell was he seeing? That ball was 6 feet over his head!!!
