I know you weren't knocking on Dunn I was just adding to the theory that some have...

I really hope that Dunn gets it together...The sooner the better...

LOL, I didn't figure you did... Didn't want Jax ripping my ass for saying Dunn hit a "meaningless" homer :paranoid: - been there, Dunn that.

Cueto can't weather rough start

ST. LOUIS -- The Cincin-nati Reds ran themselves into an unusual double play in the first inning. Joel Pineiro gave them few chances after that.
Pineiro (2-2) ended with seven innings of one-hit ball, letting his defense take care of several hard-hit shots, and the St. Louis Cardinals jumped on rookie Johnny Cueto early in a 7-2 victory last night.

Seriously, they should play fucking circus music at GABP when these clowns come up to bat instead of Night Ranger and whatever other crap these guys pick out.

Brilliant idea. I had the same thought a couple weeks ago. Play "Send in the Clowns" when they first take the field, then periodically pipe-in the circus music throughout the course of the game.

I am up for moving both Dunn and Griffey after the season...I think Bruce can make up for some production, and I just think it would take us away from a team that relies too much on the long ball a little too much...

I think Dunn is a free agent after the season, so I'm of the mind that you move him mid-season, possibly as soon as Bruce is ready.

O who cares what he has to say...Dunn must of gave him a signed ball at spring training, he is only guy he likes...:tongue2:

My sometimes overzealous defense of Dunn comes only for my distaste of the reasons people rip him. He has his flaws believe me, just rip him for the right ones. :wink2:

As far as Dunn and JR go I have said for a while now, move them both and I don't care if we only get draft picks back. I want a vet purge of this team (excluding Harang) to try and get the losing culture changed.

I consider myself a stats guy but I think this intangible is more important than any loss of statistical production.

BTW I still think I'm going to have to adopt EE as the Marty and Co whipping boy I defend player once Dunn is gone. They value scrappy over talented and anyone who appears to be less scrappy than st. Pete is in for it.

In addition, all 25 of 'em should have to pile into this thing for road trips.

The inability of this ballclub to string together more than 2 hits in a row is astonishing. Likewise, the ability of the pitchers to give up strings of hits in a row is nearly as astonishing.

Agreed...

Another series down...We actually won the first game of this series, but then we drop the last 2...

The Cardinals are not that good...

9 hits and we score 2 runs...:!

Its quite simply a collection of people who have no idea of how to win, no experience in winning or anything approaching the neccessary mental toughness required to win.

I bet Dusty is wondering what exactly in the fuck he got himself into with this bunch. He took over losers before and had them winning in short order. He hasn't made a dent in the mindset of these fucksticks.

Time to start firing players Bob.

Lets just look ahead a little bit...Like to middle of next year and 2010...

I don't envision any way that we can't field a winner then...

Cueto
Bailey
Volquez
Thompson
Harang

Coco
Burton
Bray
Roenicke
McBeth
Pelland
Viola
Fisher

CF - Stubbs
RF - Bruce
LF - Frazier
3B - EE
SS - Janish/Cozart/Trade
2B - Phillips
1B - Votto
C - ??Trade, the only guy in the system worth a darn as a prospect is Mesoraco, and he is still too young

Bench
Valaika
Dorn
Rosales
Francisco
Dickerson

With that lineup you get speed, power, average, OPS, OBP, all of the above...The only thing missing is a true leadoff guy...I would love to shop around for a true leadoff guy for the SS position, but trying to do that and get a guy that can hit for average, handle the bat, look at pitches and get on base a good clip is hard to do...

Also have a bench that has some pop from the right and left side, and some speed...
I know this is far away still, but the talent is there in the minors, if we can swing a trade or two, and not fuck up the young arms, we are on the right path and WK is the one that put us on it, IMO...

With another good draft this year, and maybe a couple college guys they could add to the roster I have above as well...

I remember just a few years ago when a couple of uber prospects named Kearns and Dunn were going to come up and team with JR to give us the best outfield in baseball for years to come. I'm also still waiting for that cocksucker Bernard Rubble to get me tickets to The Game. :wink2:

I'll believe this team ever wins again when I see it. Its honestly an "if" to me now where as just a couple of years ago I would have still said "when."

The LA Clippers have had cycles of young talent over the years as well. Some organizations just have failure in their DNA and yes, I compare the Reds to the Clippers.

Harang a hard-luck loser as Reds limp out of St. Louis with loss

By Hal McCoy
Staff Writer

Wednesday, April 30, 2008

ST. LOUIS ? So April is over, a 17-loss period during which the Cincinnati Reds played most of the time as if it was a month full of April Fool's Days.
Incredibly, Aaron Harang is 1-4 with a 2.98 earned run average after another kick in the teeth Wednesday in Busch Stadium, a 5-2 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.
In this one, the Reds actually grabbed a 2-0 lead in the second inning, but punched four hits over the final six innings. The entire team could still be on the field trying to find third base because nobody found it from the third through the ninth.

Baker, Pole tweak Reds rotation
Volquez, Harang, Cueto staying on four days' rest

ST. LOUIS -- A scheduled off-day on Thursday has given Reds manager Dusty Baker and pitching coach Dick Pole a chance to look under the hood of the starting rotation and do some tinkering. "We revamped some things," Baker said....
