Reds Tidbits (2008 season)

What a shitty game last night...Need to take the next 2 in the series...

Fall camp opens in a week. I'm not even reading the box scores, much less watching.

From this point on I'll get all info on the bane of my sporting existance from this thread.

My last comment or thought on the Reds untill football season is over: Fuck them, they don't want to get any better why should I give a shit.

Rockies 5Reds 1
Bailey surrenders 15 hits in 4 2/3 innings

Dayton Daily News

CINCINNATI -- On '80s night in Great American Ball Park, the Cincinnati Reds played like the 1982 team (102 losses) -- and a whole lot like the 2008 team has played most of the season.
The Colorado Rockies, who were not in existence in the 1980s, pounded 16 hits, 15 off Reds starter Homer Bailey, in 4 2/3 innings en route to a 5-1 victory.
The Reds? Two hits.
Colorado is on a Rocky Mountain High, without John Denver. The Rockies have needed no help while going 8-1 since the All-Star break, getting 11 or more hits in seven straight games and outscoring the opposition 65-32.
Bailey was a fast-deflating punching bag, giving up in successive innings two, two, two, three and six hits -- 14 more than the Reds had in the same span.

BN27, The upcoming Houston series is probably set in stone with Cueto, Arroyo, and Volquez. That leaves Bailey, Fogg, and Cueto for the trip to Washington, so the schedule says you'll be seeing Fogg. The wild card is whether or not Harang comes back -- his arm is reportedly better and he threw off the mound yesterday. There is the possibility that he is activated before/during the Washington series, so I am going to guess you'll wind up seeing either him or Homer Bailey. If I'm the Reds I work in Harang on the 1st or 2nd, push back Bailey and Fogg to give the rest of the rotation an extra day, then face Milwaukee with Cueto, Arroyo, and Volquez.

can somebody just tell them they're out of it and save volquez for the 2nd?
Yes, they're out of it and they know it, which is why they'll save their best pitchers for when they're actually at home against a division opponent.

You think Cinci fans are coming to GABP now that they're 6 games under to see Josh Fogg?! :tongue2:

The Reds game notes came out today and they are listing the weekend series. It looks like you will be getting Fogg/Bergman on the 2nd, unless Fogg manages to walk into another batting practice liner.
