Zambrano allows 1 hit in 8 innings, Cubs top Reds
By RICK GANO
AP Sports Writer

CHICAGO (AP) -- Carlos Zambrano allowed one hit over eight innings - a second-inning homer by Adam Dunn - and retired the final 20 batters he faced Wednesday night as the Chicago Cubs beat the Cincinnati Reds 5-1.
In his second start since coming off the disabled list with a right shoulder strain, Zambrano (10-3) walked none and struck out five while throwing 103 pitches in a dominating performance.
But things got shaky for the Cubs after Zambrano left the game.
Carlos Marmol relieved to start the ninth and gave up a two-out single to Jay Bruce that went off first baseman Derrek Lee's glove, then walked Jeff Keppinger and Ken Griffey Jr. to load the bases.

I think Homer found something in AAA...His K numbers were up and BB were down...The reason for ERA was horrible defense...

If he can be half of his hype of 3 years ago. I'll be happy. But let him be good in AAA for the rest of the year, work on the breaking ball and rebuild some of his confidence.

Homer is coming up to take Harang's spot who is going to the DL...To rest his strain in his forearm...He will miss 2 starts, the one before the all-star game and one after...Hopefully we will be in it when he comes back rested and hopefully the old Aaron Harang...
