Should be interesting to see what Livingston does tomm...I am prediciting about 5 2/3 with about 4 runs...O yeah and of course a lose considering we can't score four runs...

Nice call.

What a piece of shit team. Can't believe I keep watching this garbage. Maybe we're the real dumbasses here, fellas. Kriv and Narron make shitloads of money and run a fucked-up P.O.S. ballclub. We watch them suck ass for free. I want to be sedated.

Salmon is right now a 100% replica of Coffey but with a better fastball.

Why does everyone else have to work things out in AAA while that dipshit gets to work them out by getting ass pounded at the MLB level?

I'm not trying to be unreasonable, its a legit question. The only difference I see bewteen Salmon, EE and Coffey is contract status.

Totally legit question. Especially after watching Billingsly and Broxton come in an mow down the Reds. LA has all the money they want to spend on their pen and they are smart enough to go with young guys who can throw gas. McBeth notched his 3rd save at Louisville yesterday, I see no reason not to give him a look soon. Majewski still hasn't pitched since his sister died, so I don't know when he'll be ready. Sending Salmon down was just stupid. I thought he looked fine other than his home debut, where he had no command and gave up that HR to Berkman. By the end of June, this had better be the pitching staff or I will be moving over to the Krivsky is an idiot camp:

Harang
Arroyo
Bailey
Belisle
Livingston
Burton
Bray
Majewski
Coutlangus
Salmon
Coffee
McBeth

Trade or DFA: Lohse, Milton, Stanton, Weathers, Santos, and Saarloos

It would be a young staff that will take its lumps, but I'd rather have them all ready for next year. Dumatrait is another guy I'd like to see, because he could give the option of moving Livingston to the long reliever/swing starter spot. And in that case, I see if I can move Coffee.

On the bright side, at least they didn't spend 30+ million like the Orioles to still have a suck ass pen.

BIllingsly was a converted starter and a stud, just has trouble with command, but he has more than 1-2 pitches...That is the thing that is killing guys from Coffey, Salmon, b/c they MLB hitter can sit on a fastball and catch up to it...

As for McBeth I totally agree, I do believe that he will be up, when WK feels like getting rid of Stanton, Weathers, or Santos...He has 3 pitches, 2 very good and 3rd one that still needs work...

I hope that Majew gets back soon and can help us out...

I am still not sold on DFAing Lohse...You could always move a guy like Livingston to the pen, to make room for Bailey...

Unless what they are going to give us is good, don't just trade him to get rid of him, and certaintly don't just DFA him to make room for Bailey...

I also think that Sarloos has value to another team and we coudl trade him as well...

Also you don't have Guardado on your list and I think he needs to be on there somewhere...I still think that Salmon could use some seasoning on his other pitches...and I would leave him down in Louisville...The jury is still out on Majew after the arm injury, and same with Guardado...Either way the future looks bright in terms of young arms for the starting staff and the pen...

No, I wouldn't DFA Lohse either, I trade him while he is at peak value. A guy who is prone to mental lapses at his age is never going to become an elite pitcher and he is going to be able to demand more bank than he is worth on the free agent market.

I actually think Salmon's command issues were a little more nerves than anything. He had 0 walks in Louisville this year. After the Berkman jack, he settled down and threw good pitches.

I'm not counting on Everyday Eddie at this point. Even if he does make it back, who knows what kind of stuff he'll have. Saarloos should have options, so I say use them.

When the season started, I was encouraged because they had options for the pen. Now that some of those options aren't getting it done, I'm for turning the kids loose and seeing who can get it done on this level.

Actually, after watching Livingston yesterday, I wouldn't mind seeing him in the pen at some point. He can throw strikes and gets ground balls. He could be useful there if you are looking at a rotation next year of Harang, Arroyo, Bailey, Belisle, and Dumatrait.

I totally agree, it seems that quality arms are just popping up all over in our minor league system...Keep in mind that some of these kids are still in low A, or high A, but guys like Cueto, Fisher, Thompson, and Watson all have been nothing but dominant so far, and that is to go along with guys like Dumatrait, Livingston, and Bailey throwing well in AAA. There are also some good relievers as well...

Should be interesting to see these kids develop, but to me the minors is the most important thing that WK is doing and not the fact that he has tried to get some arms for the pen that have down right sucked since throwing here...

Yeah, based upon last season, I thought this team could be competitive in this division. Houston and St. Louis lost some pitching and Chicago is still Chicago. I didn't see the Brew Crew putting up that kind of start and I still don't think they'll win more than 90. So, I didn't think it was unreasonable to grab a few stop gap guys and try to make a run at it. The FA market was insane this offseason, so I'm not sure who else they could have gotten. I think they could have done addition by subtraction and not signed Stanton, but its too late on that. The guy they really miss is Schoenweiss, but he had no intention of staying. I actually want to see what Majewski can do if he's healthy, he's scheduled to pitch an inning tomorrow (his first since his sister died). I also read that Bray was popping the mit at 89-91. Krivsky apparently made an unplanned flight to LA to join the team yesterday... intersesting. John Fay is on board with the fire sale and he continues to bang the Homer drum. CINCY

Oh, and check out Lonnie Wheeler's Memo to Reds: This Can't Continue.

SS was just another solid pick up last year by WK...Last year if we coudl of kept Guardado healthy we very well could of made the playoffs...

I thouhgt WK was already out there...Did they give a return time for Bray?

No date on return, I had to dig a little, but here is the quote from one of Fay's blogs:

Also, Bill Bray threw an inning at extended spring training today in Sarasota. The left-handed reliever threw 24 pitches, 17 for strikes, and his velocity was between 89-91 mph. He will throw another inning Monday.

You were right, WK was already there but it was an unplanned trip. It was from McCoy's Sunday article so I assumed it was yesterday, but I looked at it again and he did fly out with the team.

Yes, it's in the DDN McCoy article linked in my post above as well.

Ok thanks...Good too hear, I am thinking that he, Guardado, and Majew will be on the roster by the end of this month...

Also not good news on the Lizard in that article...I still have some hope for him as he threw great for half the year last year...

Every time I click on this thread I hope to read "Narron Fired." Dear lord let it happen soon.

In case someone had failed to notice, the Reds are 1.5 games ahead of the Royals and 1.0 games ahead of the Nats for the worst record in all of MLB. The FUCKING ROYALS and JIM F. BOWDEN'S TEAM! Unreal.

That Wheeler article is one of the best I've read all season. Think he could join our support group here soon?

OK, I haven't been posting the last couple of days because I've been planning my road trip to the coast. I've got rifle in hand and plenty of ammo. I could use a little help in the gas department, 3.50 here for the good stuff, any donations would be accepted. We should be looking at a new skipper in a few days as long as the wind stays calm.

I have been talking to my best friend via text in Dayton the past few days talking about the Reds. I have heard the exact same arguments from everyone I talk to regarding this team. The talent is there. The manager has to go! I don't usually ride coaches that much because in the end its the players that have to get the job done. The inconsistencies of this team due to situational managing have forced me to scream bloody murder about jackass Narron. Whenever you want to start up a new fire Narron website or charity organization Jax, I'm right behind you.
