Reds Tidbits (2007 Season)

Some have overreacted. Of course, he has had some fat pitches to hit the last 2 days. That always helps.

Yeah, Chris Welsh said on the broadcast today that good hitting is contagious. I guess a little confidence and positive attitude can spread through a lineup, but I think bad pitching is more contagious than anything else. Still, it's nice to see Edwin hitting the fat pitches he's supposed to hit.

Said all off season the offense would ga as EE and Dunn went. We have to have both healthy and productive.

Only one I heard say anything about sending EE down was Marty and we all know he's a fucking idiot.

I had seen a few people on RZ say it (idiots) and Chris Welsh also alluded to it (also an idiot). To put my comment in context, given that the manager is an idiot and the general manager goes through spells of being an idiot, I'm glad that Edwin has been given the chance to work through his slump.

He was at 107 pitches and had a 5 run lead. Narron let him try to finish the game and as soon as he labored with the first hitter he went to the pen.

I have no issue whatsoever with this one.

LOL. Aren't you the same guy who's been yelling about Narron overusing Arroyo and Harang last year? Just pulling your chain. I just don't see the point in letting him complete the game for the sake of completing the game when the bullpen is well rested. I'd rather have him leaving the game with a little left in the tank rather than pitching himself out. At least he got him out of their quickly. I think you let him go later in the year, but right now there wasn't a need.

Judgement call but overall 107 isn't that high to me.

Actually I just wanted to get the one time a year I defend narron out of the way because its a lot more fun to bash the 'tard.

Any of you guys have the MLB gameday experience online? I just bought it yesterday so I could watch Reds games at work. I caught the last half of the game yesterday on my PC and the stream was pretty good. Other than the pacman game during commercials I thought is was decent.

The question I have is, will there be many games blacked out or will I be able to watch all of the Reds games from my PC?

Arroyo gets the win tonight. I can sense the turnaround and the ball getting rolling.

From Trent's blog of yesterday's game, funny stuff:

Hamilton swung at a pitch and his bat went flying into the stands. Problem was, it wasn't his bat. He was using one of Dunn's bats and you could see Dunn drop his head. Hamilton traded one of his bats to get Dunn's bat back and then used one of his own to strike out looking. Before the game Hamilton used Dunn's bat -- which apparently is much lighter than his -- and liked it. But Dunn said, 'Now you never touch my bat again.'

I switched to MLBtv this year from Extra Innings. I like it a lot better. You are always going to get blacked out on an early saturday game because of MLB's deal with Fox. Other than that, its wide open.

The stream is pretty good, all of them get stuck from time to time but I personally like having it on the computer so I can watch/listen while I work as opposed to sitting in front of a TV for 3 hours watching a shitty team.

I also prefer the pacman thing to the commercials. Anything is better than that.

Yeah, and Hamilton went 0-for-5 with 2 SOs and 4 LOB.

I don't think he should use Dunn's bats anymore either. :wink2:

Batted a round last inning including back-to-back HR by Griff and Gonzalez. Damn is Gonzalez on fire. I was giving Narron shit for batting him 5th but he's making me look stupid. I don't mind.

Yeah but he is making himself look even more stupid batting Dunn in the 6 hole and Hatte in the 3 hole...I guess he just wanted to add another lineup that he hasn't used yet...:!

Hey, the way our bats have been going with some of these guys I could see him moving the lineup around. The last two games we've put up some run support so now is when he needs to leave it the hell alone.

Even though he isnt the same player he was, this lineup needs Griff's bat in there. Who knows how many times he makes the pitching or other coaches change their game due to his ability to still beat you with a long ball.

How the hell does Dunn have 6 stolen bases already. That guys going to get 20 this year! Amazing.

Gonzalez continues to light it up and its a great addition to his glove.
