Is there anything better than watching these two guys up the middle turn dps...

It beats the days of when Dslow and Larkin couldnt get to half the balls...

And I thought it was going to be a very long timebefore I could say "thank god for our defense"
It's a beautiful thing.

HAMILTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This kid needs to play every day no questions asked...

He has a great arm, covers a ton of ground, hits for power, can run, just flat out do it all...

I agree, but do you put him at center and put Freel back into the Utility role and Griffey still in right?

Exactly, everyone's been bagging on AGon. Not sure why. I know he's not going to hit many HR's or get many RBI's but he's over .300 and has the potential to stay there. His fielding is going to take away a couple of runs this year gauranteed. If there's a better fielding SS in the game right now it'd be a helluvan argument.

If Hamilton doesn't start 3 games a week I say we lynch Narron!!!

I know thats a problem, but someway you have to get him on the field...You could get Phillips a day off put Freel there, or just like tonight you gave Griff a night off and played him in right...Or just sit Freel...

Benching Encarnacion is stupid, and it may have just cost the Reds a tying run. Our cleanup hitter tonight is Juan Castro. At the very least he should have moved Freel to third and put Griffey in the game if he wanted to make a statement to EE. This team isn't good enough to punt a game over largely inconsequential "hustle" bullshit.

I have the advantage of hindsight when I say this, but I think pulling EE is a strong message to the entire team and benefits us for the remaining 150+ games. I support Narron 100% on this. We were fortunate it didn't cost us this game, and I'd bet it will win us a game or 3 over the course of the year. Even if we have nothing else going for us we should always have hustle. Also, with the way EE has been swinging, this may be the kick in the ass needed to get him on the right track (and if it is not, it can't go any worst).

By the way, link to the Enquirer's story on Narron's move.

Hey all, I am new here but I wanted to say I agree with this move. It may seem trivial to some but I would just love to see these guys work for 30, 60, or 90 days at a 9-5 job. See what its like to be a working stiff and I guarantee you they will change their outlook when it comes to playing baseball for a living. I know they have a long season but seriously, you never know what is going to hapen and if you can't give it your all and hussle out one of the 3 or 4 at bats you have in a game you deserve to be readjusted.

We'll see what happens the next time Dunn or Griffey turn a double into a single admiring their "shot." I just thought it was a strange play to make an example of.

Hamilton "problem" solved, at least for a week trial. Josh to center and Freel to the infield?

Gonzalez placed on bereavement list for family matter

CINCINNATI
-- Shortstop Alex Gonzalez will miss several games for the Cincinnati Reds, who placed him on the bereavement list Thursday.

Gonzalez left the team to attend to a family matter in Venezuela. He can stay on the bereavement list for up to one week. The Reds were off Thursday before opening a weekend series in Chicago.

My guess is Narron will put Castro at SS...For some reason they always seem to be against putting Phillips at SS...

I would love for him to prove me wrong tho...If we could put Freel at 2nd and Phillips at SS I think that gives us our best offensive lineup that we can have...

Freel
Hamilton
Dunn
EE
Griffey
Hatte
Phillips
Ross/Valentin
Pitcher

I don't think its as much that as liking him at 2nd. But I'd like to see that lineup too.

Yeah I know, but if it means getting both Freel and Hamilton, so you keep Freel in the lineup for your leadoff spot and his speed and you can get Hamilton in the lineup for his bad, you gotta do it...
