Reds Tidbits (2007 Season)

Outstanding game tonight, I'm glad I saw most of it. The ovation for Jr. made me feel tonight like what I'm guessing most people felt when Lou Gehrig gave his speech. It makes me kinda sick to think of how some of the Cincy fans have treated Jr. He makes the best point in that people just don't understand him. In a sports world of flash and glitz Jr.'s always been a throwback and a hero. People are always looking for the frontpage news regarding a sports hero and here we have one of the greatest baseball players of all time on one of the most pathetic baseball teams. Its a damn shame really. A damn shame. :sad2:

I have been mostly ambivilent regarding Bonds and the HR record until tonight when he hit another to get within 6. Me and about 20million other people wish it were Jr.

Before the game, Mariners fans show their support for Griffey Jr., who was an All-Star 10 times in 11 years with Seattle.

SEATTLE -- Ken Griffey Jr. never liked being the focus, or speaking about himself.

So it seemed appropriate on the night Griffey was honored by the city where he became a star, it was his teammates providing the highlights.
While Griffey was being adored by Seattle fans, it was David Ross and Brandon Phillips hitting two homers apiece and Aaron Harang working eight innings in the Cincinnati Reds' 16-1 rout of the Mariners last night.
Playing his first game in Seattle since being traded after the 1999 season, the one-time face of the Mariners organization was received with adulation and appreciation from the fans, many of whom dusted off old No. 24 Griffey jerseys for the occasion.

Devin is a little better athlete than you normally get at that position

Our first round draft pick is a better than average athlete? Really?

A better athlete at catcher than Nacho Libre? Really?

Bases loaded for Juan Castro. :bonk:

If he MUST be in the game, why aren't they DHing for him?!

Our manager PH Castro for Josh Hamilton for fucks sake. Tonight he plays Castro over EE even though we just had a day off on Thursday. Jerry just simply does not posses a clue. He's completely inept.

I've said it a million times. Narron isn't the problem, you can't blame a fucking moron for acting like a fucking moron. Krivsky is the problem.
