RECRUITING FORUM CHANGES

The recruiting forum here is really a great thing to behold. Here's one suggestion I have that falls in line with making a seperate subforum for commits.

At the end of this recruiting season i thought the new '07 recruits threads cluttered the board when all I wanted to look at was '06 guys. If subforums for future years recruiting classes could be created in advance, that would be great.

The other thing I noticed was that for some reason, my search of the recruiting forums isn't getting the results it should. Since I don't follow recruiting with tons of vigor, I often want to just check out who has offers. But when I search the recruiting forum thread titles for '07 Official Offer not all the guys that have offers show up (for example, that kid Berry from GA doesn't show up). It was the same way when I was searching for '06 Official Offer. Am I doing something wrong?

What do you guys think about including the following sub-forums in each year's recruiting forum: Committs, other school's committs, and officially offered guys. I think the officially offered guys subforum isn't really necessary ... if the search worked for me, it wouldn't have come to mind. Pretty much what I'm thinking is the recruiting board should be easily accessible to non-recruitniks who just want to check out some of the guys we've got committed, or to check out some of the guys we're targeting without really having to dig if it so happens that the recruiting team has gone to town and started 2 pgs worth of threads on guys that are just showing up on the radar screen.

Let me know what you think about these ideas. Even as it stands right now, this is the best place to get recruiting info on the web, much love for all the research and posting you guys do.

This is something that needs immediate attention, I'm not aware of how much work it would be. But I'm saddened by all the closed threads in recruiting. Would it be possible for when kids aren't considering OSU to have like 2 sub-forums, 'with OSU interest' and 'interest not there'

Just because players like OJ Mayo, even though he isn't going to be a Buckeye, I'd like to follow his recruitment still. I understand this is a BUCKEYE website, and people in the 'non-osu forum' would receive far less updates, but I like studying up on the enemies nearly as much as on OSU at times; especially with the 'elite' players.

Look guys, I will tell you that we are making a few changes, but overall, the format will be close to the same. We've changed around some personnel and made some decisions on thread management. There are hundreds of things we'd like to be able to do, but the reality is that is site is 100% free and all recruiting news and updates are done by 100% voluntary manpower.

We will never have a 100% satisfaction rate, but we do make decisions based on what we feel is best for the site. If an idea is given that is plausible and also fits into the vision a core group has outlined for the forum, we will try to get it done...

That is about all that can be promised and hopefully expected in this format.

That's the important part, and I think I speak on behalf of 6,657 members who are EXTREMELY thankful for that.

But it's also one of Clarity's visions to let the site evolve as the community sees fit (if I misunderstand your vision, Clarity, I'm sorry in advance). There have been a lot of suggestions and I'm not saying something definitely needs changed, but we need to stay open to anything...

Exactly, but things do not happen by themselves...which is my point. Someone has to implement and see the the changes thru. Right now, Clarity's time is extremely limited and the guys manning the oars are already pulling a good amount of weight. We are always open to ideas, but people have to realize that we don't just flip a switch and things happen. We are working in spare time and with limited resources.

is the plan to shift basketball and footballs places now that football is essentially over till the draft?

Over? It's not 'over'! Was it 'over' when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor???

Football is never 'over'. There are just several months without any real games. (Arena, NFL-Europe, and Canadian games don't count)
