I just think if the last two OOC games hadn't went down like they did, Even ESPN would be saying "if only Beanie had played". But since it's been three in a row, nothing could've changed the inevitable drubbing. It's horse[censored]. You can't accurately gauge what a leader like Beanie would bring to the table. Like I said, I want to make it clear that I'm not saying it would've been a W, but to say it wasn't even possible is absurd.

Take A.J. Hawk out of the '05 Texas game and tell me what the score was.

Yeah, I'm not in any way saying Beaine = Win at the Coliseum. Just that when a leader isn't present, things that normally don't bother a team can snowball rather quickly into "what the fuck is going on", and "here we go again".

you cant say it wasnt possible to win if beanie played but you can use some common sense and realize that nobody was walking out of there that night with a win except the home team. the only team that can beat usc is usc. going to be a loss..usc scored 38 and put in thier backups. just like at uva, so cal plays its back ups at the end. they could have turned on the heat if they wanted and scored more.

osu is judged by creme de la creme competition. your outback bowl days vs south carolina are over. to really garner that national respect you have to show up and win these big games because we all know the big ten really gives you little competition. if i was looking at the osu schedule i would KNOW that the table is going to be run..you have nobody else to challenge you. just start preparing for another pac ten team cause that is the hardest game you have left.

The Capital One Bowl consists of the top Big Ten and SEC team who doesnt make BCS and the Big Ten has won the last 4. Penn State has won their last 5 out of 7 bowl games against the SEC and Michigan has won their last 7 out of 10 bowl games against them, Wisconsin is 2-3, Iowa won their last 2 out of 3, and Michigan State is 1-3. This so called weak competition has been giving the best conference in college football some good competition. They must not be that weak.

Winners always say those things! IN reality they blocked better, covered better, got open more, threw the ball better and ran it better. Trying to out trick them is for the big underdogs. The elite's line up doing what they always do and just let see who's team is better. Our talent overall didn't measure up. Though its only on one day..in 75 tOSU destroyed UCLA in the collesium..then were beaten by the same team in the Rose Bowl!

OU was able to penetrate the line till they got tired. We've had this issue all the time we just had success against inferior talent vs the secondary during passing situations or linebackers during running that we were able to make big plays. But going against elite teams something needs to be different. (or at least teams with enough deptch)

You bring up a good question and reading those quotes from USC players, whether it's 'player speak' or not, is frustrating. But when I see a team struggling to execute the offense as it is, I am not sure that changes in plays, formations, etc. would have yielded better results. For me, the lack of execution given the number of upperclassmen on this team is not what I expected to see. Then again, maybe that is my problem. :p

I knew USC would be a great team, but I fully expected our veteran offensive line to be able to out play their rookie defensive line and the same for our defensive line.

Just a reminder, FSU beat UF at their house in '96, when we were missing key o-line players, and yet we demolished them by 32 points in the Suger Bowl rematch with the injured guys back (and a tweak to go to the shot-gun).

Two games, same year, thirty points difference. Football.

Sometimes it is not that you lose but how you lose.The thing that bothers me the most is that in the first quarter they spoke to commentators on each sideline and the comment that was made was the buckeyes were calm.Football is a game of emotion and if you cant get pumped for a game like that something is wrong.

Man, the bottom line is, we need to play to our potential, have attitude (which we don't have) and have confidence (which we don't have). One way to achieve that is to unleash the Cleveland boys (Gibson, Rose,Hines,Terry,). This might give us a jolt of attidude and confidence we need.
The difference between tOSU and other elite teams is confidence and attitude and its sad. We have all of the players we need, we have all the coaches, but the one thing that we lack is attitude and confidence. That was what held us back in each of the national championship games, it was more mental than physical. All im saying is that its just not enough to be great at X's and O's and have players in the right position, you have the motivate them to play to their absolute potential, without that, we can never expect to hold up versus any elite team.
